My name is George and I have lived at Avista North Mountain for 2 years. It is the best assisted living that I have been at and I have lived at 4 other assisted living facilities. Avista is more like a family than staff separated by residents. The team is professional, courteous, and kind.

My mom lives here and we are so happy with her care here. She has lived in a couple of other facilities in town and she really disliked them for whatever reasons, but she is nice and chill here and loves the staff. Yes it looks a little funky in places, it’s a typical older Phoenix building and to be expected with the price point. They have a super beautiful gazebo outdoors for residents to enjoy the weather. Def recommend.

If you want your family member and loved ones to be fed he bare minimum in a dirty roach invested kitchen send them to live here. Once you eat the food you became sick and have to run to the toilet. Very unsanitary and unsafe. Management will sweep things under the rug and walk around with a smile. It’s family owned and things because a blur. Your family will be treated badly your family will be in danger here. Speaking from experience. They talk to the families with no respect and like we don’t know anything when we bring up a concern. People are always smelly and miserable every floor smells of strong urine smells. They have bed bugs and roaches infecting everything crawling all over the residents .They don’t accommodate behaviors or mental illnesses your loved ones might have. When exploring options for my loved one they mentioned that the skilled unit for dementia wouldn’t be able to take my family member because they don’t have a skilled nurse to deal with real time events in real time . They will brush things off and make you feel crazy. They will never honor your word as poa. They are short staffed and the workers run around trying to deal with residents but most become neglected and force to have to wait . They will only rush for you if you pay them out of your own wallet. Don’t recommend unless you want your family to decline faster then you anticipated
when the people you care about the most reach the place in their lives where they’re not able to do things on their own, it can be an extremely sensitive & nerve-racking thing choosing a place that can help to take care of them. I have had zero complaints with any of the staff or care that we have experienced. One member that stands out to me is Rob. He’s always been incredibly kind and gracious to me and my family since day one. Glad to know him, and glad to know my family is in good hands!
