First, I am a retired RN and I know what I am talking about and I say stay away from here if you can! I am only 59 and was in a car accident and broke my lumbar spine and my sternum. I had to come here for physical & occupational therapy, which is the about the only good thing about the place: Pete, Maggie, Joe, etc are excellent and run a great department. !!! Oh and most of the aides were very nice, especially since they are working shorthanded 75% of the time. My experience here was just horrible. So horrible, I am writing this review while still a patient here. I was just told to get packed up and out of my room even though my family can't pick me up til 3pm because another resident here wants my room. I guess I'll be put in the hall with all my belongings until my family can get here. Because of my injuries, I was ordered pain medications every 4 hours, sad thing is I usually waited 1-3 hours to get a pain pill. Because I spent a lot of my time here in pain, I hardly got any sleep. Sleep is essential for healing. Good pain control is important for healing. This place did NOTHING to help me heal. I put in the work to get out of here ASAP and I am so glad to be getting out of here. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. I would rate 0 stars but that wouldn't he fair to the therapy dept or aides who did help me while I was here.

I was told that this place was a 5 star rehab for my 76yr old mother. This place is NOT a great place. The therapists were awesome, the older nurses were helpful and most of them were wonderful BUT the weekend was the worst, when the young girl nurses are on staff, they don't respond like they should. The patients are only bathed twice a month. 2 rooms, 4 patients have to share 1 bathroom and some leave the doors locked. The food is another issue, the meat the kitchen served was hard as a rock, she didn't get what she ordered. She told them no meat because she couldn't eat it. She got a plate with a pile of cold beets and a pile of unseasoned mix vegetables. That was dinner. My mother lost 30lbs while she was in there for 6 weeks. I don't know how certain things are allowed there or how the younger nurses are allowed to do bare minimum.
Avalon Place , I can’t begin to give you all of it thanks necessary. The last two weeks have been exceptionally hard on my family with the passing of our grandfather Bon Hawthorne. I will never be able to repay the love, kindness and compassion that your staff showed for myself and my grandfather. Each and every employee deserves special recognition. There was no job too big or too small for them. When I needed a cup of coffee and I couldn’t get it myself someone would bring it to me. I didn’t want to leave my grandfather side. You each make sure that he was comfortable and I was taking care of during the time of need. I am so thankful that God brought Avalon place and it’s staff into our lives. You will never be forgotten. Just remember God chose his toughest warriors for the jobs that you do. Your heart show it. Thank you Missy Suzuki
They took excellent care of our mother during her time here. She enjoyed all the activities and the care she received from the nurses and CNAs.
You have great and hardworking employees at this facility! Shout out to all of the Nurses and Cnas on all of shifts.
