I came to Aurora for a one night stay after having cataract surgery. I had such a great experience. The building is huge with many spaces devoted to communal areas. There is library, a pool room, a beautiful movie theatre and even and beautifully designed theatre. Clients can choose meals in the communal dining room or having them delivered to their room. The food was excellent! The staff was very attentive to my needs and made every effort to accommodate any situations that arose. My room was pleasantly appointed and had a beautiful view of a lake and a tennis court. I think they handle several levels of care and I would highly recommend you consider this facility for all of your needs.

My sister was in transitional care for almost 2 weeks. The attitude of the staff lacked compassion and an understanding of her needs. (With the exception of a few) The discharge nurse on duty showed an attitude that my sister said she had been dealing with during her stay. There is so much more that should have been done for her — that wasn’t. So unless you can stay with your loved one for extended periods of time to advocate for them, I would not recommend this place
Our family's experience at Aurora has been great. My dad has been in the transitional care unit for the last week and a half. The common areas of the building and his individual room are clean and comfortable, and the underground parking garage makes it very easy to get in and out for visits. The entire staff has been wonderful, very competent, and friendly. Thank you to the nurses, nurse assistants, physical and occupational therapists, kitchen staff, housekeepers, pyschologists, and administrators (and anyone else I missed). The team at Aurora has made a difficult couple weeks a little bit easier. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a transitional care unit.
Healing goes so much better and faster when great care and talent just doesn't stop. My stay here has been progressive and obviously medically positive. Great changes in 12 days. Special thanks to Olivia, Brandon, Deekha, Kelly, and apologies to those whose names I've forgotten or overlooked. You all made a great team. Bless you all. DH
The hospital may look nice on the surface, but the treatment of patients is appalling. The staff shows a shocking lack of care for the well-being of those they are supposed to be looking after. Multiple times, we have found our family member with food and pills still in their mouth while sleeping—an extremely dangerous situation that could lead to choking. When we raised concerns, we were told they "don't have enough time to check on patients all the time" and that families should be present to help with care. This family member is a fall risk due to dementia and was admitted after a fall breaking their hip. Despite this, the hospital failed to take proper precautions, and they fell again while in their care. To make matters worse, we received conflicting stories about how the fall occurred. It’s enraging to see such a lack of attention and accountability when dealing with vulnerable patients. If you are considering this facility, be prepared to have family members on-site constantly to ensure proper care. I cannot recommend this hospital to anyone in good conscience.
