We came to visit a friend and when we got there, we noticed hot clean it was, that it had a good smell. The staff was smiling and helped us very promptly to find our friends room. Her room was clean. The staff attended to her needs. This was a day time visit

Our experience with Auburn was not good. My sister was there for rehabilitation but was unable to be consistent due to dizziness, stomach issues, UTI’s and dehydration. Communication from the nursing staff and administration was poor. My sister was dealing with stomach issues the entire time she was there, the food was horrible, if you ordered the optional food they usually didn’t have it. Zofran was given but did not resolve the stomach issues. We were told she would be transported to a doctors appointment from there and come to find out that carts is who they are contracted with. She arrived an hour and a half late for the appointment. We were told the carts was running behind. No one bothered to call to let us know that they were running late. We had to call them. The Carts drivers have no medical experience and are not equipped for any medical situations. She was sent to a DR appointment alone and myself and my sister met her at the Dr’s office due to her being in a wheelchair and unable to walk on her own. When she arrived, we were very concerned about her condition and questioned why they would have sent her at all and not have taken her by ambulance to the hospital. She kept repeating herself and mumbling, her head was down not responding to my questions and I had to keep explaining to her where she was and why she was there. She said her head hurt and wanted to lay down. I’d asked the driver how she was on the trip and he said she just kept mumbling he could not understand her and was drooling that we had to keep wiping her mouth. That’s how bad she was. The nurse had a hard time getting her blood pressure and checking her vitals, which were not good. Once the doctor saw her he also questioned how long she had been like this and agreed us that she should go to the hospital. He did not offer to call an ambulance or to call the ER to tell them we were on our way to admit her. We followed the cart transportation to the hospital. We waited at Saint Elizabeth Mercy health emergency room for over 1 1/2 hours before she was taken back to a room, while waiting she had died. She did not deserve to be treated this way. I am not a DR but did feel this was a urgent situation and relied on the DR and the hospital to recognize that it was a urgent situation. We feel there was neglect by so many people, if they cared more about the state she was in or rushed to the hospital she would be alive today!!! Don’t ever go to a nursing home or skilled nursing facility, they don’t have enough nurses or DR’s to give you the care or time you deserve.
I am so thankful for all of the amazing people that care for my mom! My mom has lived at Auburn for two years. It is a small community atmosphere. The staff treats my mom as they would their own mom's. It is extremely clean!
Amazing friendly, caring staff. Clean and tidy… residents are taken care of well, staff is friendly and everyone gets along well it’s like a little family of our own. One of my favorite places I’ve been employed.
