Atria Woodlands has a lovely independent living community. Our mom just moved there recently and it's been an easy, smooth transition for her. The staff is warm, caring and compassionate. Everyone has been extremely helpful with the process of her moving in. Most of all, Jan has guided us through this process, always taking our phone calls, helping us arrange every detail, and has gone way above and beyond. Our mom felt comfortable there immediately, has been enjoying the meals and is engaging with the residents and staff who have welcomed her into the community. Atria is a special place and her move there was a wonderful decision!

Moving a loved one into assisted living or memory care can be a challenge for any family. During the last few months, we used A Place for Mom and looked at many facilities in the area, and it was really overwhelming. Many places were confusing and expensive, and different people told us conflicting information. From the start, the staff at Atria Woodlands were informative, compassionate, friendly, and professional. During the transition, Community Sales Director Jan Unger answered all of our questions, and Assistant Executive Director Beth, Memory Care Director Debbie, and Resident Relations Director Davita helped make everyone feel comfortable and safe. They just moved in, and so far, all of the Memory Care staff - from leadership to the concierge staff have helped our loved one get adjusted, pay attention to their needs, and get them involved in activities. I encourage all family members to be proactive and participate, and not to stay away, as some people might recommend. Our doctor said we know our family members best - I know that being around them makes our loved one feel safe as they get used to being in new routines and surroundings. I've met other family members who have said the same things. We share breakfast and lunch together, welcome visitors, and even participate in the activities whenever we can. So far, we've met many residents in both the independent and assisted living, and have been welcomed by all. Atria Woodlands and their staff have been a blessing in giving our loved one the care they need in a friendly, clean, and safe atmosphere. Recommendations: The food is good - but there should be more of a focus on offering Brain and MIND diets - especially for aging and Memory Care populations. More berries, whole grains, incorporate fibers (like flax seed), and much more green and leafy vegetables at every meal. Also, there should be more staff provided for Assisted Living and Memory Care daily activities. The staff are amazing and attentive - but Atria needs more live bodies, and adding more staff would be better to engage residents in conversation and activities to improve the quality of life as they offer on the Independent Living side of campus. Atria needs to provide more staff who can focus their full attention on brain and memory activities and not just group activities in front of the TV.
Mom is settled and happy that the Atria at Woodlands is her new home! From the moment of first contact, Jan Unger provided top-tier knowledge, professionalism, and kind support assisting our family. Additionally, we are so grateful that Mom's health and her abilities have improved with the support of the Atria care team directed by Kimberly Joyce and the on-sight therapy group SOS Health lead by Maria Foschi. Rating would be 5 stars with improved culinary and activity experiences offered in the assisted living community. Thank you, The Atria at Woodlands!
Moving my parents was an incredibly stressful experience. I had a lot of questions and visited numerous facilities. Ultimately, I found that Atria Woodlands was the best fit for them. Jan Unger, the sales director, was a tremendous help in answering all my questions and easing my concerns. He was there every step of the way, offering support and reassurance. Even after my parents moved in 10 months ago, Jan continues to check on them and ensure everything is going smoothly. Now that they’ve settled in and adjusted, they’ve made new friends and are actively participating in the daily activities. I’m so grateful we made this decision, and it makes me happy to see them so engaged.
Moving my mom to assisted living has been one of the hardest and most emotional transitions that I've ever had to go through - but Atria Woodlands and all of the staff have made that process so much smoother. The minute I walked in to Atria, I knew it was the place for us, and I did not want my mom going anywhere else. Atria is incredibly clean, well staffed and the food is wonderful. Jan Unger the sales director is also one of the biggest reasons I felt comfortable moving my mom into assisted living. He is extremely kind and understanding, and was available for my questions or concerns any day of the week. Not only was he helpful during the moving process, but now that my mom has been there for about a month he continues to text me with updates on her progress. One of my favorite things about Atria is the size - they have a smaller number of residents on the property and it really makes you feel like they care about every single person that lives there, and know them personally. You are not just a number at Atria, and are given extremely personalized care. Highly highly recommend!!
