We recently had the opportunity to experience Atlee Skilled Nursing Home and Rehab and I wanted to share our experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The facility is well-maintained, with bright and inviting common areas that are designed to make residents feel at home. The layout is spacious, allowing for easy mobility, and there are plenty of comfortable seating areas where residents can socialize or relax. The staff at Atlee truly stand out. They are not only professional but also compassionate and attentive. During our visit, we observed caregivers interacting with the residents with genuine kindness and respect. They took the time to listen to us, making sure are needs were met both physically and emotionally. The activities program is impressive, offering a variety of options that cater to different interests and abilities. From arts and crafts to exercise classes and game nights, there is always something happening to keep residents engaged and active. Another highlight is the dining experience. The meals are freshly prepared and offer a good variety of options, catering to dietary restrictions. Overall, we highly recommend Atlee Nursing Home for anyone seeking a nurturing and supportive environment for their loved ones. The combination of caring staff, engaging activities, and a comfortable living space truly makes it stand out as a top choice in nursing care.

My mom has been at Atlee Hill since August of 2024. She started off in rehab and ended up in long term care. It has been a blessing for myself and her. She is well taken care of and enjoys everybody out there and the activities they offer. She cannot walk and is confined to a wheelchair but travels everywhere in nursing home in her wheelchair. In my house she could not have done that. She does have dementia and they understand and just appreciate who she is. This is the facility has far exceeded my expectations of a nursing home. It is wonderful and the staff is very caring and loving to every resident there. I am happy and at ease that mom resides there.
Some staff were friendly. Jake and Mercedes and the lady that shaved my dad face! Overall very disappointed!!!! Danielle (case worker) and Gay are very rude! You can never reach the nurses station. Never reach your love ones. They’re seated in the community room all day all night! 10 pm you’d think they have your love ones in their room. My dad brand new clothing were stolen and replaced with clothing that weren't even his (a small shirt and cheap sweatpants). My dad fell twice, they just slapped a patch on his bruised side in the wrong area. I had to bring it to the staff attention that there was an actual bruise they never bothered to do X-rays until mentioned, not even sure they did. Their Idea of therapy is training in a freakin wheelchair my dad can walk with a walker just fine. You NEVER meet nor hear from the doctor. I don’t even think this guy exists!! Your love ones are just an insurance billable gift to this place!! NEVER will I bring a Loved one here. Carroll County Hospital should be ashamed of themselves for recommending this place for rehabilitation!!!!!!
Good, Bad and Ugly!! I was brought there for treatment and rehab after a very bad vehicle accident (not my fault driver turned directly into oncoming traffic). I could not even get out of bed or walk. Good! Very clean facility and modern rehab equipment!! Also about 60% of nurses and physical therapists were great. Bad! A large segment of the nurses and assistant nurses, especially at night, don't want to be there and expressed that openly. Terrible people!! At night you were on your own and being bedridden and in pain it was very frightened and depressing. Ugly! There was a group of nurses that did not give a dam and they let you know it. Night shift nurses unqualified and mean. They would not do anything. Do not send any family or friends to this place. No doctors on staff. There were some very qualified and good folks. However the overall experience was terrible. Avoid this place!!
My grandmother recently stayed at this facility, and while there were some excellent aspects, the overall experience left us deeply disappointed and concerned. The Good: • Nurse Kathy (Day Shift): Kathy was phenomenal—caring, compassionate, and exceptionally attentive. She truly went above and beyond for my grandmother and made a difficult situation more bearable. Kathy should absolutely be promoted to charge nurse! • Director of Nursing & Administrator: Both were kind, compassionate, and responsive. The administrator, in particular, was very apologetic about the issues we encountered and seemed genuinely invested in addressing our concerns. The Bad: 1. Nurse Aides: The nurse aides failed to provide proper care for my grandmother. She arrived with a small, nearly healed wound on her bottom, but within just one week, she developed multiple open wounds due to neglect. On one occasion(TODAY) she had a bowel movement that was not cleaned up properly & went unnoticed and unaddressed from 7 AM to 2 PM until I personally checked and changed her. Had I not done this, she would have remained in that state indefinitely I believe! 2. Inadequate Morning Routine: My grandmother was left in bed until 10:00 AM one day and 11:30 AM the next, which is unacceptable in any professional care setting. Patients should not be left in bed so late unless there are medical reasons or unless they say they would like to stay in bed themselves. 3. Poor Training: The aides demonstrated a lack of basic training and common sense. They failed to properly clean her after bowel movements, leading to significant skin breakdown. This level of neglect is alarming and unacceptable. ** Also not a sanitary place housekeeping is extremely unacceptable. The room was dirty when we got there. The room was dirty when we left all pictures and videos of everything unacceptable. My grandmother had bowel movement on her that turns the TV. This was not her bowel movement. We had just got in the room and I noticed it. I wiped it off myself! *** 4. Social Worker: The social worker was one of the most unprofessional individuals I have ever encountered. She was condescending, rude, and completely dismissive of our concerns. When I decided to discharge my grandmother and take her home, she tried to prevent it by claiming it couldn’t be done without doctor’s orders and that insurance would not pay if we choose to take her away from the home the time she was there (first visit months ago) However, because I did like the therapy and the care I allowed her to come back (The same Social Worker today told me that they would not be discharging her because they don’t have time to do it )However, the physician assistant later confirmed that discharge was possible that same day! Which was the complete opposite of what the social worker said? Her behavior was so problematic that I consulted a lawyer, who confirmed that several complaints have been made against her. It’s baffling that she still has a job there, given her attitude and the legal risk she poses to the facility. It’s very unfortunate that they choose to keep such a liability at this facility! Final Thoughts: The first time my grandmother stayed here, the care and therapy were good which is why I gave them another chance PT OT & most of the nursing was very good the first time Unfortunately, this second experience was a nightmare. The lack of proper training for nurse aides, coupled with the unprofessional behavior of the social worker, makes it impossible for me to recommend this facility If you’re considering this facility for a loved one, proceed with extreme caution. While there are some excellent staff members, the systemic issues and neglect far outweigh the positives 1 made the decision to bring my grandmother home, and I would never send anyone I care about back to this facility there’s a picture of her room and how filthy it was in the middle of day another picture of the sheet they had her sitting on that had bowel movement in In her chair last pic was what she was sitting in for hours in her pull up
