What a gem of a community. I had been looking and touring so many homes for a while to find the perfect place for my mom. I was primarily looking for a place that felt like home but could also grow in care with her as she needs it. The community is charming as is but they are renovating and improving the community which I know will only make it more beautiful. As the sales consultant was walking me around on the tour, she noticed I was taking a bunch of photos to share with my mom and invited us back the next day for a carnival party they were having. First, impressive; second, so fun! I brought my mom and daughter back with me and my daughter did not miss a beat and jumped in on the water fun. Overall I was super impressed to see staff dancing, laughing, and having fun with residents but so was my mom. It has been a few weeks now and she is loving it at Astoria. She absolutely loves walking the trail around the community and all of the crafts they offer that keep her busy. Honestly, I think she has a better social life than I do now! 🤣

I cannot say enough great things about Astoria Senior Living! The care and attention they provide to residents is truly above and beyond anything we could have imagined. The staff is incredibly hands-on, compassionate, and professional, always going the extra mile to make sure everything runs smoothly. Jaime, who works at the front desk, is absolutely wonderful—she’s bubbly, sweet, and always willing to help, often sharing little behind-the-scenes details that make me feel even more connected 😊 Caleigh, the head of the activities department, is an absolute gem. She’s fun, full of energy, and always makes my mom laugh. Every time I visit during activities, my mom tells me how much she loves spending time with Caleigh and how they have such a great time together. Overall, our experience at Astoria has been nothing short of excellent, and I am so grateful for the genuine care and warmth they provide.
Communication with the upper management is poor. You never know if PT/OT or the doctor has seen your relative. The upper management keeps changing so you don't know who to go to with concerns. I think the aids could use more training about skin care. For the most part the aids are friendly and interact well with the residents.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the care Astoria has provided for my dad. I think the only thing that needs improvement is having more security such as maybe disguising the fire alarms so residents won't pull it and maybe getting Plexiglass installed.
The pictures look great and the tour was good but when l took my brother there they put him in a memory care unit that they didn’t show us No communication even on the day we moved him in No one has bathed him in 2weeks no laundry done in 2weeks I’ve call 4 times left messages and not a single call back He has a friend that stops often and said it’s a shit show there They took so much of his money up front now can’t afford to move him I wouldn’t recommend this place to my dogs
