I've been visiting a dear friend in Rosewood, and have been so impressed with the kindness and attentiveness of the staff - as has my friend. I've never walked into the front lobby without receiving a warm smile and greeting, no matter the time of day or evening. How refreshing and welcoming. Bravo. Keep up the great work. You truly make a difference. X0

Our mother was in Rosewood for almost two years and I have nothing but incredible praise for Rosewood, it’s staff and management. Each of them go far beyond your expectations to make all the residents safe, happy , well looked after each hour of the day. They truly are one big loving family. With all my heart I thank you and my mom thanks you.
I would love to give a review. Raving and truthfully positive I am truly grateful for moms care and all you have to offer. Mom occasionally gets confused and lost. All your staff talk with her, walk her to her room while reassuring and comforting her. As I constantly tell your folks thank you thank you thank you. Mom says it feels like waking up and coming to the living room with the family. Not like apartment living. Thank you again.
We have recently moved an elderly relative into the Rosewood, and have been very pleased with the staff, food, activities and atmosphere. There are now several choices of retirement homes in Kingston. They cater to different situations from active seniors, to independent living, to assisted living to nursing homes. Our relative need assisted living in a smaller, more "homey" setting. The Rosewood is perfect for this situation. Pros: relatively small number of residents allows a more personal relationship between staff and resident; one floor layout eliminates elevators (which our relative had difficulty operating); dining experience is very good (we ate there several times before our relative moved in); staff encourage shy residents to join in activities; activities are geared to older, not too active, residents; building is very clean and odour free; and the a la carte menu of additional medical and personal care for the resident allows you to choose the exact level of additional services (and cost) the resident may need. Con: the accommodation is primarily one room studio suites, much like a hotel room. Compared to some of the larger, flashier accommodations available in the new retirement homes around the city, this may deter some. In our case, this was exactly what we looking for. The most important "Pro" is this: from all my visits to Rosewood, I have seen nothing but the utmost care, compassion and patience from the staff towards the residents. That outweighs any other factor when choosing a retirement residence.
My father was a resident there and an incident occurred during one of my visits. My sister had an argument with another sibling and had lost her temper to the point of being berserk. Since she was out of control, I locked my father's room leaving her out in the hallway so she would calm down. Since I did not have a cell phone at that time and my father did not have a phone, I hit the emergency button. After ten minutes, things sounded calm in the hallway, I unlocked the door. No one ever showed up and inquired about my father. He was very shaken and was afraid of my sister since he was taken out of her home due to alleged abuse but negligence was proven. Maybe someone did show up but did not knock on the door. I don't imagine that they would of done anything since it was that sister who was paying the bills as a Power of Attorney.
