My mother was transferred there last night. She woke up this morning in tears. This place is filthy. Forget that it is utterly outdated and depressing but it is downright filthy! I cannot understand how the Town of Scotch Plains allows them to operate like this! Would YOU use that bathroom??

If I could give this place a zero star review, I would. My wife had the worst experience at Ashbrook. She told me that they were short staffed on nursing all the time. Also, it took them too long to answer call bells. The activities never started on time. The food never tasted good. The administrator is disrespectful to staff and residents.
My father in-law required rehab after a very trying month long ordeal after surgery. Everyone at Ashbrook , from our social worker Lynn to all of the receptionist, nurses , aides , physical therapists, occupational therapist and nutritionist were so kind and attentive . My family and I are truly grateful.
We are so thankful for the staff and everyone on this facility. From Catherine, the director of admission, the head nurse, Sandra, the social worker, Lynn among others- are so compassionate and caring people. We are so grateful for your support in our time of need.
My dad has been at Ashbrook for about a year now and I can't say enough about the staff. They are caring, responsive, and receptive to feedback. While I live out of state, the ladies at the front desk know exactly who I am and always make me feel welcome when I enter the building. Serna and the care staff keep me informed with my dad's medical needs. They also make my dad feel special with the little things they do, like making his tea the way he likes it or being sure there's always a banana with his oatmeal. Barry has helped with all of our administrative needs and goes above and beyond to make us feel comfortable with the facility. Beth has been the best at ensuring that my dad makes it to all of his out of building appointments and keeping me informed every step of the way. Last, but certainly not least, is Lynn. She is the social worker there and I have been in constant communication with her since day one. There was a time when I had a concern and she got in touch with me well outside of her work hours. She makes me feel like a vital part of my dad's care team and helps us at each point as we navigate this tough journey.
