Every person in the Armour Oaks office has been extremely helpful with my Move-In process. Julie, Mike, Kyle, and Phil receive special compliments for making sure that my new home is exactly as I want it to look. I have been part of the entire redecorating process of my Villa. They are genuinely as excited as I am to be a part of the Armour Oaks Community. I thoroughly researched 6 different places to live. I am truly grateful that I chose Armour Oaks for my future home.

Nightmare. Administration is horrible, DON is even worse. Micromanages but doesn't do it properly so basically just wants to look over your shoulder and harass you. Very two-faced staff members, a lot of family members friends and coworkers all hang out together so if you're not in their little click then you're definitely looked at as an outsider. So many inappropriate conversations took place during the day in replace of working and taking care of the residents. If you're a hard worker be prepared to be looked down upon. You're definitely looked at as a whistleblower if you report things that need to be reported and then you can feel the backlash right after. ANYTIME A DIRECTOR OF NURSING has issues with every single person that works there, doesn't matter what departments, even departments that she does not oversee, no one likes her. And the only reason why no one likes her is because her personality is one of a drywall. Literally no emotion for the residents no compassion for anyone else's situation. She comes in when she wants to and no one knows when she's there because she creeps through the back door and sits there and watches everything but never helps with anything. The facility is so dirty, Im really be surprised by some of the residents that stay there because I know that they could find a better facility worth taking their money every month. this place literally robs you of dignity, determination, and the drive to want to do your best. It would be easy to say that these reviews come from former employees who are mad at the facility and just want to make the facility and the management look bad, until you get to reading all the other reviews and realize that everyone is saying the same thing!!!!! This place needs to be shut down or management needs an overhaul ASAP!! Definitely need a new administrator and DON to start. I think once you get rid of those two, that would probably elevate the facility a great deal. As long as they are still working there, you'll never keep a solid employee, and you'll never have anything run smoothly, you'll always be short of everything that you need, and you'll always feel like a bother even when you're going to discuss work. Let me also add on the fact that when they handed out satisfactory surveys, they gave the surveys to residents who were unable to speak, write, or even read the surveys to even fill them out. I bet you did score high on surveys because you probably filled them out yourselves and wrote residents names on them. I wonder if those satisfactory surveys scored high when it came to talking about the food that's moldy and out of date that family members called the state about recently. It's public knowledge. ... Instead of trying to make excuses for your poor work, you should really look internally and make some changes within yourself to become better managers. Remember, the dark ALWAYS gets exposed when the light is shown on them...🙂
Lie to the residents. They make promises that they don't keep. They have one security guard for both buildings and the gate. They let anyone in. Residents don't feel safe. People tried to enter the residence apartments in the middle of the night and management doesn't do anything. They don't provide diabetic friendly food. The rooms are very nice but stay away from this place.
The only reason I gave one star is because it does not have an option to leave zero stars and still give a review. This place is a nightmare. From management up top down to employees at the bottom. Let's start with administration. First of all Isaac is playing multiple roles which is fishy to me. He is the administrator and human resources, so if you have an issue with him you don't have anyone to go to above him without any repercussions. Next we'll talk about his wife Brandi who is the transportation person, also drives the transportation van, also is the stylist for the residents. She wears so many hats I'm surprised that she hasn't tipped over. Between those two they make sure to get all the checks coming from those residents. Let's go down to the director of nursing Kaye. I honestly think this lady has mental issues. You can kind of see it in her face. But she runs off every employee and is very disrespectful to employees, residents and family members. She mishandles orders, from doctors concerning residents and their needed medications. When a resident dies, she mishandles that and causes residence bodies to be left in the facility in hot rooms for up to 3 days. She has poor communication skills and is very rude and condescending. She tries to intimidate staff by abusing her authority and even going as far as lying on staff to make her point valid. Her and Isaac are in cahoots when it comes to giving the residents the lowest possible care. From the roach infested molded food which is always served cold, Very unappealing to the residents, to the filthy rooms that they have to sleep in where there is dried feces on the wall because housekeeping does such a poor job. These people run off good employees and they hold bad employees dear to their heart. If you come in and try to make any type of positive change or try to actually do your job they see that and get intimidated and start to cause problems for you. I learned of a resident having moved into long-term care from her villa which was also owned by armor oaks, that she was paying rent for both places even though she was staying in a two-person room when she used to have her own Villa. I assisted her in reporting that to the state. I can guarantee you somewhere down that rabbit hole there is money laundering, and Heaven knows what else. The nepotism is crazy! You have staffing coordinators who hire their girlfriends and cousins and Friends and then allow those people, some of who are not even licensed as a CNA to provide care for residents. A lot of times residents have fell or came up with bruises out of nowhere because people who were not properly trained to take care of them, were allowed to. The residence sit in front of a TV all day except for when it's time to eat their meals, then they are brought to the table and returned right back in front of the TV for the remainder of the day, sitting in soaked wet feces filled briefs and wounds are not taken care of properly. This facility needs to be severely examined and management needs to be completely replaced. I wonder if family members know that their loved ones are paying way too much money for less than basic care. There are way better facilities out there than this one!
What a pleasant surprise when I first toured the Armour Oaks campus. I knew a little about their story and place in KC history but I was extremely impressed with the scope of their services and dedicated staff. I first tour the Parks Independent Living community and the diversity of their community and calendar of activities look fantastic and I did not try the food but the menu looked great and the great part of moving my father here is his ability to age in place with dignity. Armour Oaks also has an assisted living building and a skilled nursing center. These “stay in place” options gives us both peace of mind and confidence we made the right move at the right time! Thank you Armour Oaks for caring!
