My father has very advanced dementia and is 98. We finally felt we could not safely keep him at home without risk of injury. We have found Arden Courts to be caring and respectful. The Administrator is there alot and easily reached. She has been very responsive to any of our concerns. I cant address the activity programs as he is often too tired to participate but everyone knows him by name and they are very friendly. My father always loved the outdoors and the beautiful walking paths were a real plus in our eyes. The decision to let someone else care for a loved one is very difficult and there is a transition period when letting go of every aspect of their care is necessary. I felt we were nursed along that process well. I would recommend them whole-heartily.

I moved my father to Arden Courts two months ago from a nearby assisted living community, and I've been pleasantly surprised. He acclimated beautifully and really enjoys the outdoor space for walks and fresh air. The smaller setting has helped ease his anxiety and he seems relaxed and at home most of the time. Everyone on the staff knows his name and treats him with dignity. Update: my dad spent the last 15 months of his life at Arden Courts and it was the right place for him to be. He enjoyed the space, people, and care. The staff was so caring in his final weeks and the nursing team worked well coordinating hospice, etc. As a family member, I always felt welcomed there. The Executive Director, Anne, is a great communicator and advocate. I always felt heard by the entire team.
My mom moved in to Arden Courts in Towson in August 2023. So far she has adapted well and enjoys all the activities that keep her occupied. The staff always treat her with respect and have grown to love her. My mom enjoys the food and the friendships she has made. The facility has a nice outdoor garden area to walk through with seating areas and gazebo. Overall it is a nice facility and my mom is taken care of and safe.
I had been warned when I first was looking for a Memory Care facility for my sister that I would never find one I'd be happy with. That was definitely the case with the first one we tried, which was a disaster from the get-go. Arden Courts was the second, and it was vast improvement across the board. The caregivers, nursing staff, administrators, food, and facility itself were leaps and bounds better. When a former neighbor who was a nurse visited my sister there, she told me on multiple times how impressed she was with the staff, cleanliness of the facility, and the care my sister was receiving. In my opinion, dementia-care is about as difficult as it gets on the care front. While no place is perfect, I felt nothing but relief when my sister entered Arden Courts. She was very content there, which was nothing short of a miracle after what we'd been through in the previous three months. I only wish she hadn't gone downhill as fast as she did and could have enjoyed being able to freely wander the property, as they allow. As her life came to an end, both Arden Courts and Gilchrist Hospice ensured a peaceful and pain-free transition, for which I am forever grateful.
My father has been living at the Arden Courts of Towson since May 2023 and suffers from Parkinsons and dementia. After a horrific experience at Oak Crest (independent living to assisted living), a traumatic stay at the hospital, and then placement in Levindale where they drugged him up out of his mind, I was honestly hopeless. Kris Martinson from CarePatrol was wonderful and helped get my Dad placed here. I liked Anne, the executive director, the moment I met her. She is honestly a saint. I am so happy with the care he receives at Arden Courts- the staff is great and my Dad is genuinely having a great time there with the variety of activities and attention he receives from the staff. Thanks to everyone there for making this such a positive experience for my father and I.
