Took great care of my mother for about six months. Staff was very caring and kind. Food and therapies were very good. The only issues I’ve had are related to administration. I was told I’d receive a refund for the days I paid for after my mother passed within sixty days. It’s now been two months and no matter how many times I’ve followed up in person or via phone I get no answers as to when I will receive the refund. Also I am waiting for a tax document (1099?) that was due to be mailed no later than January 31st for her medical expenses so our CPA can file her tax returns and no one seems to know what to tell me. I’m just trying to wrap up her estate.
I've had some very good experiences with Arbor Springs, and like I would totally support anyone considering the facility as an option for caring for their loved one affected by dementia. Providing seamless social, nutritional, spiritual and medical care for individuals and their families is what Arbor Springs does. That's it. It's not a country club, it's not a mens or womens club. It's low stimulation, thoughtful caregiving. It's NOT rendering people helpless with over-medication, but it's not letting folks free-range around West Des Moines either. Arbor Springs protects their residents and families, by providing confidential, safe, secure spaces. Comfy, warm places to sleep and do whatever folks do when they seem to be at a loss for words, can't sleep, or don't seem to recognize every familar face they ever met in their long lives. Sometimes life slips a person a wildcard, and we deal with it. Arbor Springs is a one-stop-shop when it comes to long term care. Room, board, doctors visits + dental, therapies and whatever a person requires. It just doesn't get any better. Ever. Anywhere.
The team at Arbor Springs does an excellent job in caring for residents with advanced dementia. They do an incredibly difficult job with care, heart, and kindness.
I would give 0 stars, the aides just sit around on cell phones and watch what they want on TV instead of interacting with patients. Then they want to complain about the behavior issues! Poorly managed and poorly supervised. Aides not giving showers or doing their work at all and if you try to complain about them they will get you fired. Don't work or bring loved ones here!
