What a wonderful wonderful assisted living for your loved one. Your loved one will be treated like royalty. Our father had no intentions of leaving his apartment but now he keeps saying how much he loves living here. Very wonderful people who care and are knowledgeable. We are very happy 😁

We chose Appledorn South for our dad two years ago for a couple of reasons: #1. he had been at Appledorn East for 12 years and that had been a good experience. #2. we would not have to move our dad again, he was on hospice and the deteriorating in health would not mean another move. That was very important to us. The staff at south became family. Yes, there were staff who left and came back or new staff were hired, but they loved our dad and they loved me -- his primary person. When our dad died, four staff members who had cared for our dad for the entire two years were with me. They shared in my dad's life and in his death. Being a care giver in a facility is hard work! And emotional work. And a not highly paid position. I feel like the administration at South is hopefully getting settled. In the two years my dad was there, the administration turnover was palpable. I do not know the reasons for that, but it was difficult for the staff and for families -- not knowing who to go to for various issues. As I said, I am hopeful that some of the key roles are now being filled by people who will stay with the facility and residents. If I had any words of advice to help people who choose to have their parents cared for in a facility, it would be to get to know the staff and administration. They are taking care of your loved one and they need the support too. The entire staff gave a "walk of honor" for my dad when he passed away. I was able to call almost every person (around 20) who came to walk my dad out of the facility, by name. I loved/love them. It's important to know the staff. My family is grateful for the care given to our dad, grandpa and great grandpa at Appledorn South.
We were very pleased with the care Appledorn showed our love one. The facility was very well kept, everyone was thoughtful and kind. The food was fabulous and so appreciated the fact we could share a meal. I would give the facility an A+. We wished we could have stayed longer.❤️
My family member received excellent care during their stay at Appledorn South. The employees quickly learn the resident's preferences and are so caring.
My mom lived here from July 2023 until she passed away in the beginning of June 2024. The care she received there was great. She loved many of the med techs and aides like her own children and there were many who loved her right back. The staff was great at making sure that as her dementia got worse that they communicated with us kids anytime she had even the slightest change in condition. Staff members also took the time to get to know us kids and would greet us as we walked the halls, giving us updates on my mom before we even would reach her room. When she passed away they were all wonderful and made sure her last moments were cared for. I would definitely recommend them for friends and family that need assisted living care for their loved ones.
