This place is fantastic!! I came for Physical Therapy and my physical therapist Kathy was super awesome, she really cared about me and worked with me every step of the way. She did everything she could to get me back to myself. The nurses are great!! Bill should get a award for nurse of the year!! BUT....All The nurses were fabulous, Jackie the night nurse was checking on me all night to make sure I was ok and to help make sure I wasn't in pain. That really made me feel good that she cared so much!! 😊 The DON Steve was the sweetest man, he jumped in and helped out when ever needed, he really cared about the people here and it showed. Bev was great, she knew I wanted to come here for therapy and did all the paperwork and insurance stuff and kept me updated through the whole process such a nice lady. The food was good, and the room was nice and clean and I had everything I needed to be comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone, family or friends. If I ever need help again for whatever reason, I am definitely coming here. I would give more the 5 stars if I could🎖️🎖️🎖️🎖️🎖️

Horrible place. They didn’t take care of my dad at all. If it wasn’t for hospice he would have suffered more. They gave him no attention and no medical care. They let him lay and suffer with wounds on his feet and buttocks. Most of the staff do not care. If you ask a question they say they don’t work there. Everyone is from an agency and knows nothing. I wouldn’t leave my dog here. I wish I wouldn’t have trusted them with my poor dad. Blood on the floor from his feet. They didn’t care.
My father in law had a fall at home went there for 2 weeks of rehabilitation he was never out of his bed he was always wet his sheets were a mess most of the time they caused him to get score's on his heels that never healed they told his daughter she couldn't take him home with our 24 hour care which he didn't need that room and food table was always dirty he had spot on his one foot it was bleeding they didn't fix it up they left him in the wheelchair with sock off and never cleaned up the blood or bandage his foot he went down hill very fast for no reason there were always nurses there from other places they never knew who you were talking about and would respond with I don't know I don't always work here sadly to say hospice was great when they got involved he passed after 2 months of being there please really check out where to put your loved one just wanted to update date after going to get his belongings he had 2 brand new sweat suits with tags on them they were not in the boxes a few shirts were gone as well as some socks and a few other things it's just sad 😢 to see this as well and all his stuff was still there and then gone it's just sad this is the first nursing home I seen packe there belongings others leave there stuff alone and let family pack up things his razor and attachments were all dumped in between both boxes and I had stuff packed all that up to have it ready
My 98 year old Mom has been in Altercare Wadsworth 3 times since she came to live with me and my husband 10 years ago. Each time she has needed intense physical, occupational and speech therapy for injuries after falls and once for a mini stroke. Each time the therapy department was exceptional in getting her back on her feet and functioning enough to get out of her bed and recliner on her own and walking to the bathroom. I have back issues, had back surgery and cannot physically lift her. I find it quite remarkable that at her age Altercare has been successful each time. I spoke with the therapy department, related my limitations and goals for my Mom and they worked with both my Mom and me to meet those goals, even at her very advanced age. At the same time, I was honest with my Mom so she understood that I truly wanted her to come back home with me but that she had to really work hard through the pain and do what the therapists ask each and every day, in order for her to be able to do the things she needed to do to allow us both to be healthy in the home situation. If I could give the therapy department more than 5 stars, I would! That includes physical, occupational and speech therapy. They work daily with mostly older adults who are sometimes not cooperative or have given up, and they continue to encourage. As far as the day to day care, I feel that every individual who has come in contact with my Mom has been kind, patient and helpful with every interaction, even in the beginning when my Mom was in great pain and what I would consider "crabby." I do think expectations need to be addressed when in a situation such as this one. There ARE 2 patients to a room, just like a hospital, and that has to lead to compromise and patience. I know for a fact that each facility has a required number of aides and nurses and it's not like having a 1-1 ratio at home, so again, expectations need to be adjusted, granted, a difficult situation when one is hurting and away from home. Sometimes my Mom has had to wait longer than she'd like to be given a bed pan or taken to the bathroom but she's always in a diaper and they always respectfully clean her up. I continually explain to my Mom that these individuals are taking care of MANY patients, not just 1, like I do at home. And I bring her attention to the fact that they are kind, encouraging and respectful every time they interact. We had 1 experience with another facility during the pandemic when Altercare did not have a bed available and it was truly awful. She did not get therapy on a regular basis and aides were very impatient AND unkind. I am grateful to Altercare for their care and their kind staff, from admissions and reception greeting to extremely helpful nurses and aides, and most especially the therapy department!
Recent hospice respite stay for my neighbor. It was a great experience being able to share my work family with my neighborhood family. Thank you so much for the great care you and Absolute Hospice provided during his "vacation." Also the surprise 99th b-day wishes were a special touch that brought a smile to his face! Thank you for all you do on a daily basis for all our residents!
