This place is terrible. The food looks like some old warmed up cafeteria food just thrown together. When you walk in it looks descent but the rooms are old outdated and not clean. My parent was put in broken bed. The carpet was nasty, sticky and smelled like urine. We asked for a bedside pot and they nurse brought a nasty dirty one. Then when we said something he just sprayed it with something. There is no air circulating the rooms have stench because of the carpet. The windows have thick dirt and dust so don’t try open them. The shared shower room was full of hair is never clean. The nursing staff gets mad if you call them and will sit on their phones until you go to the desk. The say they are busy. Don’t leave your parents here. Once they get there they try to keep them and will call other facilities and tell them not to take you.

My father was in this facility years ago and it sounds like not much has changed. There was a few good nurses and caregivers on some shifts and others that were just giving lip service. “Do you have a concern?” Insert eye roll here! They didn’t take good care of my father and he died of sepsis. I Asked if he could see the doctor because he was agitate, confused and seemed warm, he was breathing more rapidly, He needed to see a doctor or go to ER but the doctor didn’t come in as scheduled that evening and the next day he was transferred to AG and died the next evening. The weren’t changing his external catheter Often enough for cleaning it and so he ended up with the UTI and then it became sepsis. Ironically, the nurse that was on staff the evening that he was confused, which is a CLASSIC sign of infection or fever in the elderly commented early on — well this is what happens to them— they get a UTI and then they get sepsis which results in them passing. He wasn’t confused when he was feeling well so they should have seen his confusion and acted! , He called me and I could hear the aide Laughing in the background at what he was saying. He was delirious and probably had a fever, but I don’t think anybody bothered to take his temperature. I was furious at those lazy aides and the apathetic nurse. Maybe if they paid healthcare workers more they could get better help, but they just have people that are putting in time. They don’t care about the patients and it’s really a sad situation. I wouldn’t recommend that people take their dog there. If I had a parent there I would get them OUT asap!
The activities with them worked very hard . They were good. However for every aid and nurse that did their job well there were plenty more playing on cell phones and ignoring call lights. One aid was moved off the hall for incompetent behavior with me. One nurse was fired. There are now fracture pans in the facility because I complained about it. They need more staffing among nurse aids and nurses. I can talk and complain. I did that. My problems were addressed. What about the people who can't complain or talk? I have worked as an aid all my life. So I spoke up for the ones that could not.
Staff was very helpful and caring! Everyone who is a patient there seemed happy and friendly. The kitchen staff was very helpful and understanding of our mother’s needs and wants.
It was my first time in a place such as this, and I was really nervous about staying here, but they made me feel comfortable like I was in my own home. All the nurses and aides were very kind to me and very helpful when I needed help. All the staff were friendly and very interactive with me and other residents, it was really nice. I would most certainly recommend this facility to other people looking for short term or long term care.
