Mom has a care plan which looks good on paper, but they only follow it when they have staff available, which many times they don't. Staff tell me mom refuses the help when asked, but mom says they don't respond when she rings her buzzer. I've been with mom when she rings her buzzer and it can take over an hour for a response. They always seem to be short staffed. Another example is promising her a shower in the morning and then making excuses why she couldn't get one. They offered for after dinner, but at 96 years old after dinner is too late. The team there doesn't seem coordinated. It's frustrating.

Our mom was dying, and she needed a secure and comfortable place to spend the final 2 months of her life close to family in Shelton and surrounded by professional, compassionate and ethical people. My brother chose Alpine Way because it was closest to his house. I was initially skeptical, but after the first tour and subsequent visits to see Mom, I was comforted seeing how well the Alpine and Hospice teams were taking care of her. Sadly, we all must die, and when she did, she was comfortable and surrounded by loving family. Afterwards, Alpine Way comforted the family and worked with us in a fair and equitable manner to close out her accounts. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I would recommend living there.
My wife recently spent over three weeks at Alpine Way in Hospice care. I would say that Alpine did a superlative job in taking care of her. The staff were numerous, skilled, attentive and empathetic. The facility was modern and very clean. The food was surprisingly good. All in all it was a positive experience under trying circumstances. I would not hesitate to recommend Alpine Way to someone in need of their services. Bob Thompson
It amazes me this facilities 5 star rating . After moving my parent into memory care over 6 months ago I realized they are more concernd in financial gain verses care. Almost every month was a 2 level jump in price then permanently raising it. The move in entry packet stated this care they were increasing rates for. One month there was a $200 charge for a glucose meter and accessories without our Drs orders or letting me know. This was not recognized by insurance and not necessary since I brought a meter making it impossible to get testing strips anywhere except their pharmacy for $56 when the tester strips I brought where $2. Several times when visting i noticed diaper was never changed and one attendant on duty and 2 gone for lunch together .When I raised my concerns about these issues they would justify this by making any excuse causing me to feel it was a bate and switch to bring my parent into this facility as well as feeling bullied by the administration in a unwanted 3in room calls on speaker phone. Twice I was told if I was not happy I could move him out then they denied saying this. When I decided to take them up on their offer they did not need to tell me 3 times you had me at 2. Moving your loved one into a nursing home is one of the hardest things we do in life moving out is also hard to but just knowing the new home is better, safer, loving and happier for all. You want to feel those checks we write are being utilized for the care deserved now they are. My suggestion to the administration at Alpine FIX IT BEFORE YOU RUIN IT
Staff is amazing and took our moms care level to the highest possible standards. So thankful for the team and how they helped our family. Highly recommend them!
