If you know what’s best for your loved one don’t have them come here. The administrative staff is good but the Nurses and CNAs are terrible they will leave your food tray out for hours. They expect you to buy diapers on your own when they supply them and Medicare pays they lose your things they are rude mean and uncaring.

Alden Terrace in McHenry is by far the best nursing rehabilitation facility I have been in. The nurses, CNAs, and staff are all very caring and it’s easy to see that they love what they do. Atoy, Jen, Shannon, Bernice, Angie, T, Amber, and the rest truly have a passion for caring for their residents. Ed, the Administrator, is a great man. He is very easy to talk to and takes your concerns seriously. He makes accommodations in a timely manner and will do whatever it takes to make your stay there as comfortable as possible. The food is good and they also offer snacks. If you need rehabilitation services or long-term nursing care, Alden Terrace in McHenry is my recommendation.
Interesting facility. My mother was in here for PT/OT due to fracturing her femur and both of her ankles. The facility tried keeping my mother in there past 30 days knowing she would lose her SSI and food stamp benefits. This would allow them to make more $, go figure. Well today my mother received a letter saying her stamps were diminished because she failed to report a change in residence. The letter also stated that “Alden Terrace Services has your permission to do any of the things on the list below for you.” Unfortunately my mother never gave them permission for anything and if it came down to it, I, her daughter would be the POA to make decisions and/or “do any of the things on the list.” Nevertheless, last month, a retired lawyer called my phone trying to obtain information pertaining to my mother. They also stated that I didn’t need to tell my mother that they called. I did ask him if he had the right to keep working though, he was retired. Quite fishy. It’s great that I work in a rehab facility and I know the proper way that it functions. This will be turning into a lawsuit. Take your loved ones elsewhere.
Terrible place. I absolutely do not recommend sending a loved one here. They are unable to keep track of their patients since they are understaffed and have people quitting all the time. It's only been 2 ish months of my husband being there and one of his nurses already quit. They also lost a lot of my husbands clothes or give it to the wrong person even though it is clearly marked wth his full name. Even though they call themselves a rehab center they offer no rehab. The physical therapy room is locked and you cant ever use it. At first they had my husband in a nice room with no roommate and a full bathroom. Now he has a crappy room, a roommate, and he has to use the communal bathroom which is dirty. I mean no matter how early he gets there in the morning there is hair and dirt and gunk in it.
My father had a spinal fusion and needed acute therapy for recovery, nothing long term. From the moment he walked into those doors, he was treated with utter disrespect and sarcasm when asking simple questions about the facility and their policies. Specifically, CNA Evan and Jen are horrible people let alone CNAs. They thought they could disrespect my father because he was in a weak position at this time, however, once I learned of this treatment I shamed them in front of their co-workers and supervisors. They do not deserve the right to be certified. On top of that, the facility reeked of urine and feces and seemed to be slowly falling apart. The food looked very similar to that served in a prison. My father was not here more than 1 night I immediately came to pick him up and he was discharged. What a horrible experience and I hope this greedy money-driven corporation sees this review. This place bills $400 a day and THEY DO NOT OFFER ANY FORM OF PHYSICAL THERAPY ACTIVITY. They basically told my father he could rot in a bed for three weeks. What a awful experience! As we were leaving the facility we could hear a poor elderly woman cry out help me. I can only wonder why she was doing so. There is a reason this place has had three class action lawsuits against it including wrongful death. If you truly love your loved one I beg of you do not place them here! Avoid our mistake and read this review and then read it again!!!
