My dad was sent there. This place is the worst. Don’t send your loved ones here. The driver was in an accident but they didn’t call to advise us. We found out when he was in the hospital. Don’t do it! I wish I was given options.

A visit to my friend provided my first visit ever to Alaris Health. I wasn't so impressed with the front desk staff; she seemed to have been preoccupied and not so attentive to orienting me to the sign-in requirements. However, I was pleased to see adequate signage to the elevators, and noticed the cleanliness of the hallways and rooms as well as the friendliness of staff and patients as I made my way to my friend's room. When I arrived at her room, I did not see her so I took a seat by her bed to wait for her. Within 3 minutes she backed out of the bathroom in a wheelchair. We were each so happy to see each other and I was thrilled that she was in such good spirits. We talked and laughed until her lunch was brought in by a staff member who indulged me as I engaged her with my little knowledge of French. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting my friend and seeing that she was not in a depressing, unclean, and unfriendly environment. I really hope I have conveyed my positive impression of Alaris Health Essex. Last point, it would have been helpful to me to have seen some signs leading me back to the elevator, but I shouldn't have been worried...friendly staff was always nearby and willing to direct me out. I had a SUPERB visit!!!
Mother was inpatient first arrival night lights/power was out. Facility NO updates paint on walls peeling, supplies not available, beds not secured. Bed only have top rails by which not safe and my mom fell put of bed remained on the floor over an hour waiting for help. No incident reports done, no exams to see if further damage was done. Service was horrible horrible rude staff. NEVER allow your family to stay here. Ever
IF YOU LOVE YOUR FAMILY DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE THERE. First off there’s no real visitation. You can only see your loved one through the window if they are on the first floor. And You can only talk to them if someone comes and opens the window. My grandmother hasn’t been at that “facility” 2 months and she’s been hospitalized 3 times due to issues with her feeding tube. They ignored the issue for long that my grandmother became septic. Currently she needs an additional 3 surgeries to remove the infection they weren’t able to remove in the first one. The infection has even spread to her bloodstream. If my family didn’t care and didn’t constantly visit, my grandmother would have slowly died without any medical help. That entire building needs to be closed and completely re-staffed from administration all the way down! My grandmother will not be going back to that death camp and the state has been informed of the situation. UPDATE: Two days after posting my review of this “facility “ they replied with “ Hi Tiffany, Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. Please contact the facility administrator to discuss these concerns further.” Where was the concern for my grandmother while she laid in bed becoming more and more septic??? Where is the concern of the other patients in that “facility “? I will not be contacting the facility administrator I’ll have the state do it, so you people can explain yourselves to them. You all should be ashamed for treating defenseless people with such ruthlessness and neglect. Just remember God doesn’t sleep. The evil and wickedness you do in life always comes back around.
Staff were friendly and kind. The administrators are helpful with getting my mom Medicaid. Place generally was very clean. Disappointed in finding out that weaning off a ventilator is not really done aggressively. The room they put my mom in is spacious and nice, and so is the bathroom for her. The public bathroom was a little underwhelming, did not seem clean enough and ran out of toilet paper. The front desk persons were polite and professional. But it was only my mom’s first day so we will see. The social worker also seems very nice also. I hope it all works out. Too early to give a 5 .
