My grandpa was staying here for a short time when he had a medical emergency during the night. He used the call button and nobody showed up for 4 HOURS, he was able to contact our family thank god and we were able to call 911. He is in horrible condition due to not being able to get to the hospital sooner and it has greatly declined his health. The staff was nice but I'm greatly disappointed in their response time. It's a great place for people that are more independent.

The previous review was posted spontaneously and I was just beginning to write it. As I said, Aegis Shoreline has many very positive features, including the extraordinary therapy department and the physical plant manager. The professional staff, the dinning room staff and med techs are generally cheerful and always helpful. The floor staff is also good. The major negative component is the kitchen, where the food, for the entire 5 months of my residence, is sub-standard. Well below what I would consider when eating in a middle-line restaurant. In spite of many appeals by myself and other residents, no changes in cooking, food handing or quality have been made. This low quality of food prevents me from me giving a high star rating and would not allow me to give a positive recommendation to friends and colleagues who ask me. If the quality of food were improved, I would give Aegis Shoreline a 5 star rating.
My mom is in her fourth week of a respite stay at Aegis of Shoreline, and I am completely impressed with their community. The caregivers are pleasant, helpful, and available. The sales staff is compassionate. The management team is responsive. The residents are welcoming. The PT, OT, nursing, and medical teams are knowledgeable and communicative. The waitstaff in the dining room know the residents’ preferences, families, and needs. The maintenance people are patient, effective and understanding. I moved my mom from the east coast after a medical emergency. I was (am) a mess. I had a ton on my plate -suddenly thrust into running bicoastal households while juggling the physical and emotional needs of an octogenarian. The folks at Aegis were there to help. They arranged what we needed for our specific situation. They facilitated social connections for mom. They attended to her needs and my needs. They became my allies. From server to general manager, their team made my family feel safe and welcome. Families with elders who need care are busy and stressed. The team at Aegis of Shoreline are amazing helpers.
My wife and I both have parents who've lived in multiple assisted living facilities over time. We both agree Aegis of Shoreline is the best of them. The staff is well-trained, friendly, caring and attentive. The nursing staff is very active and responsive. The activity staff is engaging. The maintenance and cleanliness of the building is impeccable. The food variety and quality is closer to restaurant dining.
Aegis has been a wonderful environment for my almost 90 year old mother. She has found new friends, and has the support of her community during challenging times. She likes most of the staff too and I know she feels safe, cared for and able to go on with her life in a different way than living on her own would have allowed. I know she is very happy to be a part of the community!
