It was a difficult decision to uproot my 92 year old mom and move her to Washington from Louisiana to be close to me. When I first visited Aegis Redmond, I got a good feeling about it and looked no further, but still had doubts about whether I was making the right decision for her. My mother was initially at Aegis in the assisted living apartments. It was very comfortable and we were able to furnish her apartment with many of her own things, which she appreciated. Although she had early stages of dementia, she was able to get sufficient care in AL and was able to avoid a more restrictive setting. She eventually transitioned to Life’s Neighborhood, the memory care unit, as her condition progressed, but the transition was easier because of her familiarity with her environs and the staff, and they with her. I cannot say enough good things about the care staff. The love, respect and kindness from the care staff was overwhelming. My mother was treated like family. My mother was always proud of her appearance and the staff always made sure she was neatly dressed with hair done, manicure, and lipstick on. The wonderful activity staff made sure there was something for everyone from walks outside and scenic bus rides, to and crafts, visiting musicians, and therapy dogs. The maintenance staff went above and beyond to assist with anything we needed, too, and the general manager was very accessible, as well as caring, and was always responsive to any concerns or new ideas. Before my mother passed away, in her last days on hospice, many of the staff stopped by her room to pay their respects, to offer comfort and to share good memories of her. It truly was like a family. Looking back, I know I made the right decision for my mom.

I love being apart of the Aegis Living community in Redmond. This is a community that feels like home, that always seems to provide a welcoming environment in all settings. I admire our Care staff members attention to the residents and care they provide in a fast passed environment.
This facility is well-maintained and homey, the food is very good and the people on the staff are fine representatives for the Aegis brand. Concierges are friendly and helpful, nurses are alert and thorough, and caregivers are kind and gentle with the residents. Across the board, Aegis staff treat the residents with care and respect, they work hard to engage the residents with activities and entertainment and they keep families informed and involved.
We moved our 88 year old mother into Aegis of Redmond's Memory Care Unit over a year ago and we are very happy with our choice! General Manager Ebrima Gomez has done an excellent job building and leading a dedicated & compassionate care / nursing staff at this facility. Mr. Gomez and his staff have been very adaptive to our mother's changing needs and communicate consistently with my family -whenever there are concerns. My family frequently visits our mother and have observed her enjoying wonderful enrichment activities (crafts, music, scenic drives, mental stimulation programming and more) offered to the residents in the Memory Unit and Assisted Living! We feel this is so very important for all the residents mental and physical well being! Enrichment Director Lindsey Hedberg and her staff (Annie and Maddie) are offering such fun and innovative activities - we are so grateful! We find great comfort in knowing that Aegis staff are giving such respectful and quality care to our mother!
I decided on Aegis of Redmond upon getting several recommendations when my mom needed more help than I could give her. I was so happy with every aspect of Aegis - all of the care people, the director (Amanda) who was so friendly, warm and helpful, the spacious room that my mom stayed in, the view of the river, the food that was specially prepared for my mom as her condition changed and the numerous informative communications letting me know what was happening at each stage of her decline. I was touched at how well the nursing staff and aides knew my mom and how caring and concerned they were about her. My Mom passed on March 1st, and I was moved by the compassionate thoughts everyone expressed to me. I feel like I could not have made a better decision taking mom to Aegis of Redmond. It made her ending something I could accept and lean into knowing how supported we both were.
