My mom has been living at Newton Wellesley Center for Alzheimer's Care for almost 18 months now. I did a lot of research into different facilities, and chose Newton Wellesley Alzheimer's because of their unique expertise in caring for people with dementia. I love the way they treat my mother: they meet her on her own terms, and allow her to be herself every day, while at the same time completely normalizing the fact that she has Alzheimer's. The wonderful nursing and administrative staff have truly helped my mom so much in terms of moving towards acceptance. Finally, a note about Covid protocols: the facility has taken such extraordinary measures to protect their residents that it is almost a "fortress-like" atmosphere right now, but that is simply a reflection of the deep care they have for the well-being of every resident.

My sister is housed here with early onset Alzheimer's. The care has been solid and the staff do a good job caring for residents. Terribly sad setting and those that work there have hearts of gold. I hear some complain about little things like haircuts and clothing but the staff have a nearly impossible job caring for all of the patients that can't care for themselves. Custodial care is a national crisis and anyone dealing with the brutal choice to have a loved one placed in a nursing home would be lucky to get a bed here.
This is THE place for a loved one with Alzheimers. After being at three other facilities my mother has found her home!!! She is treated with respect and dignity by those that care for her. The social worker is outstanding. She always listens and takes time to talk though concerns with us. My mother has nurses who are responsive and knowledgeable and the other members of her care team help her in any way necessary when she needs food, a blanket and even a hand to hold. There is a real spirit of devotion to those with Alzheimers at Newton Wellesley from the way management communicates down to the care that is taken with my mother's laundry. One staff member told me that they were proud they worked at Newton Wellesley. I am grateful that Newton Wellesley takes such good care of my mother.
Newton Wellesley Center for Alzheimer’s Care is an incredible facility. My Children and I checked my Wife into this facility 5 weeks ago. The entire staff, from Directors, to Nurses, Nurses Aides, Heads of Departments, Housekeeping, Dietary Teams, Receptionists, and all other Associates have only one thing in mind…. How they can best care for, respect, and help their residents in an extremely profession, caring manner. They have all become like family to me over these past 5 weeks. I thank them every chance I can.
