Everyone is always nice and helpful. I specifically want to thank Nurse Nadia for going above and beyond for her patients. She is a godsend, and with everything she does for her patients on a daily basis she also let a patient use her phone multiple times to call family since the room phone wasn’t working. They take great care of your family at this place. I hope she gets extra acknowledgment for being a great nurse and wonderful human. Thank you!!!

This place is awful. My mother was dumped here after spending two weeks in Yale Hospital because it was supposedly the only rehab/nursing home with beds available (I can't imagine why). She recovered from her issue there in about a year, maybe less but they had their shady lawyers trap her there and put her on Title 19. Now she can't leave. She has no money and cannot afford to move out to a nice assisted living center because they are taking everything she has. She is miserable and depressed there. She is barely eating because the food there is terrible and usually cold. She has to sleep on a rock hard bed and she has a bad back and went through a botched back surgery years ago. She is blind in one eye and has poor sight in the other and she has been on a "waiting list" to see an eye doctor for probably over a year. She has had to share the bathroom with a drug addict who was having multiple men in and out of her room and spending hours in the bathroom and stealing the supplies and leaving clothes in the sink. She complains of freezing in there in the winter and it gets too hot in the summer since you can't even open a window. She has her clothes go missing all the time. Her room phone doesn't work. I have made many calls to the place to speak to her social worker or the business office but can never get in touch with anyone. They always send me to voicemail boxes that I guess don't even get checked. There are no contacts or email addresses on the website. If you don't take time off from work to go there during the day, you'll never get a hold of anyone. I hate going there because the area is bad, the parking lot is bad and sketchy. There is an old crackhead lady who hits on me and has felt up my leg in the world's slowest elevator which is often "out of service". The business office lady was very rude when I went in there because my mother wanted me to ask about her "trust fund" and how she can get out of there. At this point it would take 5 1/2 years for her to save enough in her "trust fund" to get out of there. They said they could put her on a program to leave that could take two years or more. She should have been out of there over a year ago but she is now trapped there until she dies and no one there cares one bit. They want to keep her there forever because they get $15,000 a month and she only costs them maybe $1,000 a month to care for, not even. There are some nice nurses working there but they are overworked and underappreciated. An employee told me that the place is owned by a cheap, wealthy Jewish business man in New York who sometimes comes around to gloat. I don't like to talk badly of people or anything but I can't really find anything nice to say about this place and it kills me that I can't help my mother get out of there before she dies there. I don't know how much they're paying for good reviews but if it's enough to get my mother out of there, maybe I'll edit mine.
I was on D1 unit staff was great friendly and kind the only issue was the food if the food was better I would have no complaints at all. The resident advocate Erin was very helpful with answering all my questions a pleasant very kind person.
I had great physical therapy staff to work with. The nurses was on point with the meds . Stephanie Bates is a great supervisor she made my stay great she is great!!!
I never wrote a review before, but this place is so horrible and pathetic that it feels wrong not to warn others. I went here directly from being released from the hospital after breaking 9 bones.the 2 emts who were transporting me to advanced literally warned me about how awful advanced is and asked me if I was sure I wanted them to take me there.it made me worried but I have state insurance so advanced was the only option I literally had since I couldn’t take care of myself so soon after the accident. I was brought to my room which had a messy bed, a used cup on the table and found out the tv was broken.there is a button in the rooms that lets a nurse know u need help. The button is completely useless. Press it all u want, no nurse will come. My roommate even told me don’t bother with the button, they don’t care, they ignore it.the only way to get help is to crawl ur broken body to the hallway. If u need help eating, using the bathroom or anything at all for that matter literally not one of the staff members will help you. The food they give u is pathetic and insane. I got a small thin cheeseburger and I kid you not, 4 cold French fries for dinner. For breakfast I was given one egg, and one piece of bread. If u are still hungry, too bad they won’t give you more. You would get more food from a elementary school lunch tray than you will get here. Not only that but the silverware was sooooo dirty, it was disgusting. You can tell whoever cleans the silverware just quickly runs it under water for two seconds and half heartedly wipes it off. When it came to my pain meds the lady handed me what she told me was 15mg but it was 2 pills which means it can’t be 15mg. I looked up the numbers on the pill and found out I was only given 10mg in total not 15mg. Just wow. The worst thing about this place was I NEEDED and was PROMISED I would get my pain meds I so badly needed every 6 hours. Every 6 hours I’d hit the button for help and it would take up to 3 MORE HOURS for the nurse to finally come and give me my pain meds while I been crying in my room basically screaming from pain. Keep in mind I got to advanced less than 2 weeks after breaking several bones, so it was crucial for me to get my pain meds every 6 hours and they would never come on time, all while also giving me a lower dose than what they were telling me I was getting. Also, I met my case manager who works for advanced my first and only night there. She shook my hand when I was in my bed and accidentally hit my severely broken foot causing extreme pain. Then we she asked me about my concerns I stated I’m not getting proper care and I need to leave, she talked over me telling me to give it a chance over and over then she said I was giving her anxiety looking like she was about to have a panic attack.. Absolute useless staff all around. The only polite staff member was the one who was lying about the pill dosage she was giving me lmao. After one miserable night there, I hit my button at the 6 hour mark for my pain meds. 4 hours go by and no nurse, no pain meds, no responding to my button. I can’t even walk. I had to call an ambulance to bring me back to the hospital just so I could get my pain meds. Later that day they wanted to discharge me back to advanced since that was the only place available with beds with the insurance I have. I refused over and over, the hospital didn’t want to let me go home where I live alone due to my injuries but Advanced is such a horrible place that I convinced them to let me go home, knowing I can give myself my pain meds at the proper times even though I couldn’t even walk on my own, plus it’s not like they were giving me ANY care while being a patient. Advanced is such an ironic shameful name for a facility that doesn’t even do the bare minimum for its patients. If u want u or ur loved ones to have a miserable experience with rude uncaring staff, the wrong pill dosages, food portions meant for a 3 year old, and no help whatsoever, this is the perfect place to go.
