My mother was admitted to Accura "Skilled Nursing" facility a few days ago for care while she recovered from a serious health issue. While at this facility, she was ABUSED and NEGLECTED for 4 days. They gave her NO CARE WHATSOEVER! They just left her in bed for 4 days! She had a bed sore that required wound care and they did not clean it or change the dressing the entire time that she was there! They did not feed her and they would not allow me to see her (they said that was due to Covid). They severely over medicated her and kept her in a catatonic state throughout the 4 days that she was there. When she was admitted, she was lucid and clear headed, and within 24 hours she was confused, disoriented and hallucinating. The massive amount of medication that she was given caused her blood pressure to plummet and she was transferred back to the hospital where she is now in the ICU. Do not allow anyone that you care about to live at this facility!

Everyone wants to know of a good home if they need one, and Accura of Ames is just such a place. Although the building has a new addition most of the rooms are smallish and the lack of carpeting in the main hallway makes it noisy at times. Even so, its the quality of staff and management that make this an acceptable place for those who need it.
still wearing same clothes when came in wont let me bring any with me its been three days. Late to bring meds over three Hr. late and still counting every day since day one..Breafast at 9:30 - 10:00 am.lunch 1:30-230pm dinner 7:30 - 8:30 petty late by 2 hrs. every day. Just a few things thats poor im going some were else cant stay here .The worst is come i believe..
the staff was disrespectful to my loved one. we will never go back
