I just moved into to this beautiful apartment a week ago. . The staff in the office are great. I had a few things that needed attention. Donnie was awesome. 2 were user error 😂. I would also like to state that from the time I became interested in moving into Acclaim (June 2024) Cindy has been wonderful. She was so easy to work with. Always pleasant. She made everything in the process so easy!

My wife and I discovered Acclaim by accident. We were actually looking for a small house in Chesapeake. We fist saw Acclaim on a Tuesday, signed an application on Friday a signed a lease a few days later. We’re so glad we did. The indoor/heated pool sold my wife. I just look forward to not having to mow the lawn again!!
You might want to think twice before moving into this new apartment complex Apartment was never finished being cleaned before moving in and had to wait over 3 weeks for apartment to be cleaned but had to do most of it myself because of drywall sanding dust EVERWHERE and waited even longer for deck to be partially cleaned. Shortly after moving in I needed to call their 24 hour maintainance service at 11:00 PM during the night only to find out the number listed in their Welcome Package was NO GOOD!!!!!! Lock on front entry way door to my unit stopped working during evening hours. Found out it runs on batteries which died and doesn't even give you a warning. Besiddes, what front enty way lock on unit door runs on BATTERIES! At 4:30 AM this morning 4/7/2025 I jumped in to take a shower turned the water on and their was no hot water. Had to take a cold shower!! This is supposed to be a Premium Luxury Apartment Complex. The only thing PREMIUM about this place is the RENT!! Yes their are a lot of activities but personally I would rather have Building Security, Locks that don't run off batteries, dependable hot running water etc... The office staff is very understanding and sweet, the maintainance person Donnie is awsome but he is just ONE person and can only do so much. The residents here are so friendly, kind and welcoming and are actually helping one another handle any issues if they can. Too bad upper management can't be as interested or even care about the ongoing issues here. 4/29/2025 I appreciate your response(The owner) to my email however, in response to your mentioning the following" While the code door locks do run on batteries, they also have a traditional key slot to be utilized in this situation which is why we recommend that residents carry their key just in case." The front door to our apartments DO NOT have a key slot !! They are powered by battery only! I think you have our location confused with another Acclaim Location along with the trash chutes which was mentioned in my New Residents Guide to Move in. I tried to locate them a few weeks after moving in and came to find out there are none at THIS location. We must have gotten one of the cheaper version of The Acclaim. 1st time: I couldn't lock my door at night. 2nd time: Had a physical therapist trying to leave after working with my husband and she literally could not get out of my apartment door because the door handle on the inside would not release the bolt. She not only wasn't a happer camper she couldn't believe something like that would even be installed and mentioned I should have someone from Fire Dept. look into that. Now that's a real dangerous situation when you can NOT get out of your apartment. I don't live on the first floor so if there was an emergency, climbing out a window is NOT an option not to mention my husband is in a wheelchair. I wonder how many residents realize that if the metal facing around their door handle on the front door of their apartment comes slightly loose it could cause their door not to open from the inside. I hope once the office realized what would happen with this type of door handle they have made the owners aware and quickly change them out. A door that cannot be opened from the inside is a serious fire hazard and poses a significant safety risk. I haven't seen any new different types installed yet. Could you please tell me how much longer it will be? 3rd time: Was leaving and again my door would not lock. Thank GOD it was early afternoon on a Saturday and they were able to get someone out here to get it working again.
I have been living here since Jan 6 my husband and I love it. Cindi the front desk manager and her assistant Tristen are great. Both are wonderful, very kind ,caring and always have a smile on there faces which makes your Day. Donnie the maintenance supervisor also always has a smile on his face and is very helpful and knowledgeable and willing to help any way he can. If you have to move and are a senior saint this is the place to come. They treat you like kings and queens what more could you ask for in your golden years.
