My family and I want to thank you and your employees for taking such great care of my mom during her three years at Banyan. The gardens and her access to the outdoors were our main reasons for choosing Banyan, but she remained there due to the loving kindness of those who took care of her. Please let them all know how much we appreciated them. We knew that whenever we left after a visit, that she would be taken care of and that helped to ease our concerns for her. We are going to miss visiting there!

When it came time to move my Mom from her lifetime home in NY - I wanted to find a place that she would be comfortable. After searching quite a few Assisted Living Facilities we found Banyan! We knew it was the perfect place for my Mom. With its beautiful and peaceful gardens, Koi pond, Gazebo and Barbecue area - We found the place she felt like home! Everyone from the Administrator, the staff and all the aids are very caring to the needs of my Mom and all of the residents. I appreciate all that they do! There are many different activities to participate in. Lots of music and parties to keep everyone happy! Everyone enjoys going out weekly for lunch to the local restaurants and the Scenic Bus Tours. There is a salon that does hair and manicures. My Mom's medical needs are taken care of onsite by visits from the doctor and podiatrist. My family is very grateful that we found a great place for my Mom at Banyan.
I am really pleased to do a review of A Banyan Residence in Venice, Florida. My husband and I moved to Venice from Massachusetts a couple of months ago and shortly after we arrived, we began touring assisted living facilities nearby for my mom. When we visited the Banyan in Venice, we knew instantly that this was the right place for my mom and for us. It was nothing like we had ever seen before; from amazing tropical gardens and meticulous grounds to the vitality and happiness of the residents. The personal attention and responsiveness from the Director and staff towards the residents and families is easy to see through their caring and respectful interactions. As family members, we also feel very welcome and visit several times during the week. We see the daily and nightly care that is consistently being given to all residents. The staff goes out of their way to make the residents comfortable and happy. They have been kind and comforting while supporting my mom’s successful transition to a new home. There is a therapeutic value to the physical set up and outside space. The ability be outside in nature is healing in and of itself. You see many residents enjoying and benefiting from the beautiful surroundings and the tranquility from such a peaceful setting. Butterfly gardens with all different species are visible throughout the walkways and paths. There is an incredible Koi fishpond where the residents and family members enjoy sitting and just watching or feeding the fish. Birds can be spotted throughout the gardens and there is always great easy listening music playing. The residents have many opportunities to interact with their neighbors and make new acquaintances. There are daily activities both onsite and scheduled trips offsite during the week. Many enjoy sitting outside to visit with other residents or gather at the Gazebo. The residents are surrounded by beauty throughout the grounds. This is a family business so there is continuity of care and high expectations that are consistently maintained. From the beautiful outdoor space to the clean well-kept indoor facility there is great attention to detail at the Banyan. In our previous experiences with other assisted living facilities, there was a high turnover of directors and staff. This had a negative impact of my mom and other residents. When your loved one has memory concerns, even minor changes are extremely disruptive to their routine and well-being. Banyan goes out of its way to help mitigate feelings of anxiety by providing care, comfort, and assurance. My mom has been at the Banyan for a couple of months now, and the experience has been transformative for her. She is more like herself than we have seen for years. My brother came from out of state to visit her and was astounded by the positive changes. My son also visited recently and made the same observations. Most importantly, she is happy, safe, and thriving. The location is also fantastic. The Banyan is on a quiet road and is only minutes away from the beautiful beaches and downtown Venice which my mom loves! We feel extremely grateful that we had the option to select such an exceptional placement for my mom and for the positive experience that it has been for all of us. Thank you, Amy and Sal Emma
My mother is 90 and was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 5 yrs ago and we struggled to keep her at home but finally moved her to the Banyan 3 years ago and dont regret doing so. She has excellent care from the staff who understand her illness and treat her with the care and compassion she deserves. We particularly like the gardens which give the Banyan a feeling of being in a Selby Gardens environmemt unlike the new and more modern retirememt homes that we checked out prior to moving her there.
My wife has been there for 7 months and is completely settled in her new home environment. The wait to get into A Banyan was well worth it! Everyone on staff, from directors, caregivers, kitchen and maintenance crews all show genuine concern and caring for the mixture of assisted living and memory care residents alike. They are all professional and vigilant in their respective fields. I really don't think you could find better quality care than A Banyan. All services, all the time, for all residents!
