My two brothers and I placed our Mom at Churchill Place in 2017. At the age of 93 the family home was far too much for her to manage even with all of the help of "the boys". What we thought was going to be a very difficult transition was managed with the assistance of all of the kind, caring and knowledgeable staff at Churchill Place. The accommodation, dining services, activities and nursing staff were all top notch. Most importantly of all, the staff of Churchill Place treated Mom with respect and dignity through to her 100th year. We are forever grateful to all who made her final years safe and well looked after.

Churchill Place is worth more than a five star review. My father had some mobility problems and a number of health issues. He was feeling vulnerable living by himself in a large house. It was his decision to move into a retirement home and it was with great fortune he chose Churchill Place. He and his cat, Silky, moved in to a lovely suite in 2022. He was warmly welcomed and felt very comfortable and safe. Although independent and happy to spend time with his hobbies, he was coud be quite extroverted. He joined the Book Club and was appreciative of different opinions, and was always ready to share stories in the dining room with a variety of his fellow residents while enjoying a diverse and healthy menu. The staff took the time to get to know him. Whenever they stopped by, they were met by his cat and the many framed cross-stitches that adorned every wall. He was very fond of all the staff. I would visit once or twice a week and could see why. He enjoyed the comfort and security of Churchill Place and our family was very happy with his choice. His health began to decline towards the end of 2022. His health issues began to worsen and throughout 2023, the nurses took such good care of him without making him feel like he was a burden. As a scientist, he was always curious and wanted to know what was happening with his own health. Every question was answered, every issue addressed. His PSWs became his angels. Paramedics were called on a fairly regular basis and there was always a nurse by his side or on the phone with me. Things worsened. Soon he was unable to leave his room. The staff did everything to make sure he was comfortable, well-fed and all his needs were met. This was not a forced kindness. Knowing the situation, they were also kind to me. The residents came first at Churchill Place and I was present to witness this mandate. He had hard times and everyone was with him, helping to bolster his spirits and making sure that he was treated with dignity and respect. He passed away in the hospital in March. It was hard on the family, but I saw it was also hard for the staff. Churchill Place provided us with comfort. We were allowed extra time to clean out his suite and to organize during our grief. I don't think this would have happened anywhere else. We have such appreciation for the kindness and understanding of Jennifer Barr, the Executive Director who truly cares about the residents and their families. The knowledgeable and professional nurses led by Jennifer Castillo went above and beyond. Churchill Place took care of my father in a way I could not and I highly recommend it for those who have elderly family and friends that need the best kind of attention and care. Hilary Conard
On a recent holiday in Canada, I called to visit my elderly uncle who has been resident at Churchill Place for some time. I was impressed by the standard of care that he receives; bright spacious living and recreational areas. Friendly, efficient and knowledgeable staff that ensured his every comfort. The food was ***** and designed for his specific dietary needs. The little personal touches certainly didn't go unnoticed. Can't recommend highly enough, thank you all.
My Mother Denise has been a resident at Churchill place since 2018. The staff are excellent, food is top notch and the recreation programme is well thought out with activities and entertainment for everyone. I feel confident that my mother is well care for. Kathleen McPhie
This place is terrible. The head of nursing Jennifer Castello is the absolute worst. She doesn't know what she is talking about and she takes forever to get back to you about anything. Worst is she comes off as a complete phony. Very disappointed that this is what the management has chosen to run nursing. Jennifer Barr is no better because she allows this to happen. Get rid of the head of nursing and keep the seniors safe. Everyone protect your parents and don't put them at Churchill Place!
