On September 19, 2024 My 80th birthday was fast approaching and I decided to have a party for my friends and family. I wasn’t too sure how to arrange it. However, my daughter Wendy stepped in to help. I live at Trafalgar Lodge, a retirement home in Oakville. I rented the Skylight lounge at the Lodge for the event. . For catering I contacted our friendly and helpful Chef Monica Nath and from that moment on I had no worries. She took care of everything. The food and presentation were Fantastic. (See photos below). One can tell she loves her work and takes pride in what she does. She arranged to have two of her staff available to provide service and help with the setup and take down which was completely seamless Thanks to MONICA and her team this is a birthday celebration I will remember.

The biggest priority for my parents is walkability, and Trafalgar Lodge is located within historical downtown Oakville, steps from cafes, shops and Lake Ontario. But it offers so much more for my parents who moved in a few days ago. First of all, Ernest is incredibly welcoming and clearly enjoys interacting with staff and residents. Before my parents moved in, he had new carpet installed and their suite was painted. Then, my mother, who was recovering from pneumonia, needed a respite suite with meals nine days before moving in. Ernest came in on his day off to sign the necessary papers and then searched for a microwave for the room. The staff are wonderfully kind, and immediately made my mother feel at home and safe. After a few days of rest and good meals, my mother was joining the activities! By the time my father joined her, she’d already gotten to know several residents and embraces the activity schedule! Now, I know they are where they should be, in a warm, inviting community. I would recommend Trafalgar Lodge to anyone looking for a caring environment.
Joanne and Earnest are so Helpful and Welcoming (Amazing). The entire staff from the front desk , PSW’s , nurses, volunteers, and kitchen staff are wonderful . Everyone including the residence all called my father by his first name from the moment he arrived. They made him and Us feel at Home and Safe from day one . I can not say enough Good things about Trafalgar Lodge . Thank you for Giving me Peace of Mind knowing my Dad is safe and at Home .
I recently stayed at Trafalgar Lodge for six weeks for Respite care after having a total knee replacement surgery. It more than exceeded my expectations! The staff (front desk, nurses, housekeeping, kitchen etc.) were all very welcoming, friendly and caring. The meals were good and the service was excellent. Being in the dining room felt like eating in a nice restaurant! I really can’t say enough good things about my experience. If, in the future, I’m in need of a retirement home, I would definitely consider Trafalgar Lodge!
Our mother became a part of the Trafalgar Lodge family in 1999. Mom called it home, loved her life at the lodge and felt that she was part of the Trafalgar Lodge Family until she passed in November 2023. The residence is small, comfortable in nature and intimate where everyone is known by their name and cared for with the utmost respect. The entire staff are wonderful to all the residents. I would like to thank Ernest Drako and Staff for the love, care and professionalism that they showed to “Mom” for the 4 plus years that she resided at Trafalgar Lodge Retirement Home. All the staff were so kind, helpful and made mom’s life at Trafalgar Lodge joyous. Ernest is the “Leader” of a tremendous team. Each staff member is exceptional; devoted to the residents and to each other.
