My mother has been living at The Berkeley on Pepperell for just over a year now. What a superb job everyone at The Berkeley has done providing her with a lovely, friendly and caring place to live. The facility is top rate – attractive and always spotless. The activities available every day have been interesting and well managed. The staff has genuinely gotten to know her in the daily interactions with her, and they have made her feel that she is a cared for member of a community. Remarkably there has been very little staff turnover during 2022, as well. The staff almost universally call my mother by name every time they see her, which she is pleased with. And every time special care or services have been needed, the staff at The Berkeley has responded promptly and appropriately. Thank-you so much for the excellent environment you are providing to residents. I hope you will share this message with your staff as they, too, need to know their efforts are greatly appreciated.

My mother was a resident here and she did not have a great experience. Overall, this is not a place you should send a family member with cognitive issues. They are not equipped to handle patients with early, and definitely, not moderate dementia. The facility itself looks great, but unfortunately, the trade-off is being short-staffed or having less experienced staff. We had some very positive experiences with the nursing staff and some horrible ones. Their memory unit is very short staffed and we had a very poor experience there. I could see a family member staying here if they only had physical limitations, but not memory limitations. One thing we learned from the whole experience at The Berkeley is, as the family member, you get caught up in the look of the facilities. The most important thing is the staff. How many full-time vs. part-time. How much experience do they have and so on. A lot of the newer facilities might look great, but if they don’t have great staff, you are not doing your family member a service by having them stay there.
First visit there was to the second floor, their memory care unit. Very positive first impression. Staff were terrific and I felt my senior client was in capable hands. Lots of room in her studio apartment. Big walk in bathroom, lots of storage and closet space. Just enough room to make the space her own. Lots of very comfortable common area, very home like... Thrilled for my lady to be in care at this spot...
My elderly mother had been talking of selling the house more and more the past few years, especially since becoming a widow. With her small family living so far away, she was on her own to manage with some help from kind neighbors and family friends. Then Covid struck and she wasn't able to get out or see many people. She then decided that the house would go on the market and she would move. She went to visit the newly build Berkeley on Pepperell and soon thereafter placed a deposit down on what would become her new home. It's been 5 months and my mother is doing so well. She is never lonely, no longer has the burden of caring for a house and all its worries, and she is happy and thriving at The Berkeley. The staff and residents have become her new 'family'. We are so pleased with everything that The Berkeley offers and it is so comforting for us to know she is safe and happy.
Caring and compassionate staff; a warm and welcoming atmosphere, close to all amenities!!
