There are many wonderful things I could say about Parkwood Place, but I want to focus on the amazing staff and the exceptional organisational culture they've created. They are warm, cheerful, caring, and personable with each resident. They welcomed my friend with open arms when he first moved in, and treated me like family too. They've created the kind of home that doesn't feel institutional and they work hard every day to maintain a cosy, respectful atmosphere where "everybody knows your name" when you walk in the front door. BIG, BIG THANK YOU...to all the folks @ Parkwood Place for the warm, down-to-earth welcome earlier this week to someone like myself looking on someone else's behalf, at independent-living options in the greater Victoria area...this began with a great outreach experience from 'Anne' at the front desk (who also helped co-navigate yours truly thru the current Shelbourne construction, another story, &...) initially answering my call to request an impromptu appt. 'Margie' took over for the next patient hour-plus conversation/fact-finding process and was totally on-board/compassionate with the profile I tried to represent: a much more firmer perspective of this important life-option could not have been delivered any better than by Margie! She was both sincere & frank in helping to provide some post-COVID context in how the Parkwood dealt with that challenging time. As an unexpected bonus (two actually...), a resident took it upon herself to share an impromptu testimonial of her own Parkwood experience, and in the dialect-language of my forefathers to boot...like the Parkwood that resident is a treasure! To Margie, many many thanks for a great customer-experience, & for thinking about my next tea/coffee break too! HONORABLE MENTION...has to go to Margie's colleague 'Lynn', who went well above the call of duty to follow-up/outreach to myself during her own down-time. The pleasure wall all mine, and I pity those who may find themselves in a similar life-circumstance such as mine, to not give the great folks at the Parkwood Place a chance to share their services, their professionalism, their sincerity & their contribution to the greater Victoria community at large. Bravo--& please keep up the great job!
If someone you love moves here - make sure you can arrange for groceries to be delivered so that they can have access to healthy and SAFE food to eat. Insufficient visitor parking and limited parking nearby makes visiting problematic especially on weekends. Revera Parkwood Place is a perfect example of why BC needs more regulatory oversight of independent living facilities for seniors. If your loved one has any special dietary needs or allergies this is not a safe place for them to live.
My grandpa lived here for a few months before he ended up needing more care at a different location. The waiter's senses of humour always had kept a smile on his face.
I love Parkwood Place! Great location, and really friendly staff. Everyone is super, helpful!! :)
