Extremely unprofessional, uncaring and negligent. Some of the care staff try, but there seems to be very poor internal communication, and so many things we asked for, which were promised by staff, just didn't happen. My father was placed here by social work for 6 months. I was out of the country at the time, but I pulled him out of this place after several concerning incidences. The management team is appalling. They don't seem to be on top of anything, the manager does not seem to know the company policies or procedures, and mostly did not respond to my queries. I was never sent a contract or details of costs, home services etc. I often did not get to talk to my father despite calling up 15 times a day because staff often do not answer the phone. Or they answer, put you on hold, cut you off or tell you to call back and then don't answer. My dad was brushing his hair with his nailbrush for weeks despite me asking 4 different people if someone could get him a haircomb over that period, and 3 different staff members were supposed to get him one on different occasions but didn't. £8800 a month charges, and they were not taking good care of him. My impression from speaking to him and from friends that visited him, was that the staff (with the exception of Roz and Caitlin) just don't seem to give two hoots about the residents, nor the level of service to family. He was taken into hospital after a fall and the management refused to help him get back to the home, or let me pay for a taxi from the hospital to the home. If you love your family member don't leave them in Tantallon Carehome. Update: I switched my dad to another care home a few months ago, and he is doing so much better there, where the staff actually care about the residents.

OVER A YEAR after my mum sadly passed away at Tantallon House Care Home and despite our lawyers contacting them several times and sending them all the documentation, they still haven't refunded us for money due back to us (even though they confirmed it in a statement).. Oh and I had to ask them to tell the doctor that my mum had died. They hadn't bothered and I couldn't get a death certificate until they did it. Think very carefully before dealing with Morar.
