Terrible .... avoid if at all possible... some of the staff were very good but many did not speak English... replying yes to questions they did not understand causing, on one occasion, a serious fall. One gentleman fell in the night and was left for hours on the corridor floor with a quite serious injury. The managers could not be trusted to give truthful answers to simple questions. On the day of departure all bedding was removed leaving a person to lay on plastic sheet for several hours. One night during cold spell the heating was not working and the night staff did not appear to know how to turn it back on. One night the call button was not answered leaving person in urine soaked bed.... Food was also very poor. Really not good enough... be warned.
My Auntie resides here due to ill health. In fact, has done for over a year now. I can't speak highly enough of all the staff and management. They are very caring, helpful and professional. In my experience, my Auntie is in a safe, and well run residential care home.
A family member spent a couple of weeks here. Its good points included better then average food and some regular staff members who appeared genuinely kind and caring, if overworked. Areas for improvement included the building itself which had limited facilities for less able people, Very small rooms that were shabbily decorated, with stained carpets, and a smell of urine due to the widespread use of commodes and the lack of accessible toilets. There was little in the way of diversion or entertainment for the residents. Due to short staffing, waiting times for assistance were sometimes lengthy. Communication appeared difficult and messages left were not always passed on/ responded to. There appeared to be a lack of clear leadership within the home
