My mum has just had 4 weeks of Respite care at Llys Herbert Care Home - in a sense a holiday - having found it difficult to cope on her own at home after losing her husband. Mum was only originally staying for 2 weeks, but extended her stay as she was feeling so refreshed. All of the staff have been excellent, very caring and nothing was too much for them. My mum feels ready to return home and is so much stronger thanks to the fantastic support and care she has received. She’s back playing scrabble and enjoyed the various activities. The facilities are excellent, her room was lovely as were the communal areas. My mum has also made new friends and is really grateful for everything that has been done for her. Thank you all at Llys Herbert you have been brilliant.

What a super place. The decor is subtle and classy, the food is fantastic and made according to the needs of the residents. The grounds are beautiful, the services extensive (hairdressera, cinema, lounge, cwtch, all sorts. But the best thing (at time of writing in October 2023) is the staff. Such a great group of people. I spoke to a resident and her family whilst I was there who were so appreciative of the care received.
My aunt moved into llys Herbert when it was brand new. The facilities are excellent, with lovely rooms and common areas. But the absolute best thing is the staff - they have been wonderful. Caring and responsive. Within a week of moving in my aunt (who is 100, and elected to move in here without any prompting, having been living independently in her own home until she moved in) announced that she was here for good! That says it all.
We went to the D-Day 80th Anniversary Commemoration event at Llys Herbert on Thursday 6th June. The event was well organised and, as local residents of the community, we were made to feel most welcome. It was an enjoyable afternoon, with music and lovely food. Thank you for having us celebrate with your residents and staff. Hope to see you at another event soon!
From the first visit to Llys Herbert, to the warm welcome extended to my father when he moved in and to the individual care taken to settle him into this stunning new home the care, passion and teamwork has been exemplary.
