I am so delighted that my mom and I choose Kawartha Heights. From our first interaction, the staff have been caring and supportive and helpful. My mom ended up moving in much earlier than originally anticipated, in an emergency situation. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate her and make her feel welcome and valued. They have maintained a high level of communication. My family and I feel confident in the care and home that my mom has decided upon.

My Mother in law (Mary) lived at Kawartha Heights Retirement for 4 years. She had a one bedroom suite with a den that had a beautiful view of the city. She made many friends and enjoyed their daily chats. Thank you to all the staff for always being kind and helpful. A special thank you to Rosemary and Teressa for their support. When I went to visit Mary I was always welcomed by the staff, some staff even knew me by name. I was very impressed by the effort made to make the dining room look very festive on special occasions. Mary viewed many retirement homes before choosing Kawartha Heights Retirement and decided this was the best home for her.
My mother-in-law has been at Kawartha Heights for a year now. She tells me it has a warm and homey family feeling. She likes the activities that are offered and the interesting people she has met. Life there has been very good. The staff is very caring. Marg Garwood gives it a four out of five stars.
My Mom has been here almost since it opened. She lived at a couple of other retirement homes and decided to try Kawartha Heights when it opened. She has a fabulous one-bedroom suite. The nice thing about a new-build is that everything is beautiful and new and the room sizes are fabulous! Beautiful bathrooms with walk-in showers, high ceilings, individual climate control, tiny, efficient kitchenettes............I really can't say enough great things about this place. The dining room, outdoor patio and common areas are very large, luxuruous spaces and the lobby has a welcoming fireplace - much like a luxury hotel. She loves the food and, the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. I'm very happy and so very relieved that my Mom is being taken care of at Kawartha Heights Retirement Living! Take a tour! You'll be very impressed.
Two years ago, just before the arrival of the pandemic, my father could no longer live on his own and at age 90 went to live at Kawartha Heights. This was an emotional family decision but the staff at KHRL went above and beyond to help Dad settle in and within a few days, he had made new friends and decided this wasn't such a bad thing after all. We were very impressed with the facility - it's cleanliness, modern amenities, spacious dining room and lounge, games room and exercise room. Then the pandemic hit and no one could visit for months. During this time the management and staff kept all of the residents safe and as happy as they could be under the circumstances. Happy hour provided a social situation for the residents and helped break up the time the quarantine imposed. My family and I rest much easier knowing that help is close at hand should Dad suffer a fall (he has) or have an immediate need that we can't be there for. They keep us in the loop regarding any concerns pertaining to Dad and we are so happy that he is a resident of Kawartha Heights Retirement Living!
