70 Humberline Dr, Etobicoke, ON M9W 7H3, Canada
My mother has lived there now for 5 months and I have been pleasantly surprised at the quality of care she receives everyday. The staff are friendly and well trained. The facilities could use some paint, but is kept very clean. The food is good for the most part and mom cleans her plate most days. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend Deerwood Creek to a family needing to place a loved one in Long Term Care.

I can't even provide 1 star. My father had the unfortunate experience of spending the last few months of his life there and was essentially neglected. We visited daily to hold the staff accountable for a minimum of care. My father had Alzheimers and mobility issues. He required assistance to use the washroom. We'd ask the staff for assistance when we were there as they were the trained professionals and my poor father was left waiting sometimes for an hour for relief (he had bladder cancer as well). The one PSW who we actually thought was good, was actually a liar and was suspended for not properly showering the people in her care, but simple hosing them off. Such an indignity to these poor souls. Our elderly loved ones deserve so much better. Do not put your loved ones in Deerwood. My father had a fall there that sent him to hospital, where his last days were spent in agony. His death was ruled accidental and I fully blame Deerwood's neglect for this.

Incredible staff, many are still there, we still drop by from time to time. My mother spent her final years here (for 3 years until 2015). About 4 months after moving in, my mother was offered a different home for her Christian faith community and we all chose to remain at Deerwood. Sure, food was hit n miss, and over 3 years we had a couple of issues, but it's rare to have better staff, and the home's schedule of activities is better than most. Really good people to work with overall, great personal care workers. I am on the board of directors of other nursing homes, I congratulate Deerwood Creek for running a good home with a good level of care that I (and my brothers) trusted them with my mother when we had other options. (but wow, during afternoon shift changes parking was a real pain!)
They had my father on the wrong medication and when brought to their attention they didn't change it. Suffice to say he no longer there and the food was absolutely terrible. I felt my initial review was too short. My experience with this long term care facility was below satisfactory and I don't know where to begin. From my father's toe nails not being clipped, to random patients sleeping in his room, or being called by nurses to come talk to my father or she was going to call the police. I felt that Deerwood Creek Care were ill equipped to deal with patients who suffer from dementia and as soon as he left the facility, his perceived aggressive behavior was non existent. The doctors administered anti-psychotic medication usually used for people with schizophrenia but my dad suffered from dementia.
