I don't have enough good things to say about the staff at Chartwell Wynfield. My mother Catherine lived there for just under three years, and as a group they consistently went above and beyond as her care needs increased. Mom was nervous about moving in, but within 3 weeks she saw it as "home". The staff and other residents worked hard to welcome her and make her feel included, but most importantly, she felt safe as part of a community. After living completely on her own, I think even she was surprised at how energizing it was to be around a vibrant group of people. I'd arrive to find crafts on Mom's door, see treats delivered as I visited, and was able to arrange hair and nail care all on site. The constant communication and willingness to accommodate deliveries and navigate the other challenges of being a family member living far away is a testament to the community of people that work there. Whether it's wearing purple dinosaur costumes or telling my Mom a joke, I always felt the staff didn't just take care of the residents, but truly cared about them as well. It's a beautiful quiet spot with tons of parking and lots of parks and other amenities nearby. There's a reason they have so many positive reviews. I'm tremendously glad I found Chartwell Wynfield when my Mom needed them.

I felt quite confident and comfortable in the level of professionalism, kindness and care shown by all of the management and staff at your care home. Everyone is dedicated to meeting the residents needs. My mother enjoyed living here and developing relationships with all of the people at Wynfield. It was a pleasure working with Anne Smith, Kathy, Shivani and the home’s general manager, Julie Pearce. Anne Smith called me when she was at home and obviously not feeling well to assure me that everything had been scheduled for my mothers arrival at Wynfield. Anne has a continuous dedication to provide high quality service and a genuine commitment to helping people. Their coordinated team approach made my mothers move from hospital to Wynfield an easier transition. Julie’s team are extremely responsive and work within your required time line. I would totally recommend their services to anyone looking for a retirement home for their loved one. All of the details are taken care of. Thank you very much for everything!
I had the pleasure of meeting Anne Smith at Chartwell Wynfield Retirement Residence. I was searching for a new home for my father. Her expertise, resources and professionalism was very welcomed. Unfortunately my father passed but i would recommend this home to anyone. Your loved one would be in good hands and receive the best of care here i feel
Anne Smith is wonderful, caring and extremely knowledgeable regarding the retirement home business. I was impressed with the tour, the location, and the residence itself. Ann's approach was thoughtful and compassionate, highly recommend seeing her for a tour for your parent's retirement needs! Chartwell has so much to offer!
Visited Chartwell Wynfield today to service them and had an amazing experience. We have serviced the Durham Chartwell locations a few times now. Big shout out to Lucas who was extremely helpful and very informative about the facility. Along with Anne who was extremely welcoming, I showing us around and making us feel comfortable. Great establishment with even greater staff!!
