I moved my aunt into the Alice Grange after visiting a number of homes. The atmosphere and ambiance was so welcoming and friendly. Elizabeth has dementia and unable to care for herself. The staff at Alice Grange have taken great care of her. All the residents are friendly and supportive of one another. They enjoy regular entertainment and trips out organised by wonderful Lynn. All the staff are aware of all the residents and their families and communication is good (which is very important when entrusting your loved ones with potential strangers!). The home is beautifully decorated but feels homely and welcoming. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to Alice Grange if you're looking to place a loved one in permanent or rest bite care. After my brother and myself visited many care homes and being a carer in one myself I knew that Alice care home was the one. The manager Rachel gave us a tour and was very impressed with her openness and honesty and said her door is always open. On the day of moving our mother who has Alzheimer’s in we were both so nervous how our mum would be. However we needn’t of worried, as our mum was provided with lunch and introduced to other residents while we unpacked her belongings. The activities lead Penny and carer Emily literally couldn’t have been so kind and welcoming which made the transition smooth. It understandably took our mother a little while to settle which is to be expected but the staff were so supportive and caring to us all which reassured us. Everyone of the staff are wonderful and carers Mary-Beth and Jay have both been fantastic. We are so grateful and happy that our mum is in a safe and beautiful home and is being treated with dignity and respect. The activities and facilities are both excellent and my mum says in her own words “everyone here are just so lovely and I’m really happy here” Well done Alice Grange and thank you. Lynn and Stephen
Barchester Alice Grange is an absolutely fantastic environment for those requiring additional care particularly from my experience Dementia. The staff are wonderful. Everything they do has the individuals needs at the forefront. Nothing is too much trouble. Personal care is well executed. Whenever visiting you made to feel welcome by everyone. I’d go so far to say those that care are friends. It’s a place full of laughter & joy. The activities provided are always well thought out. Musical entertainment is always popular. Any fears that I may of had of nursing care are completely unfounded at Alice Grange. Thankyou
Stayed for two weeks respite as I do most years. Keep coming back so that says it all. Staff always welcoming, friendly and happy to learn how to use my lifting equipment and care package that comes with me. Long may this lovely home continue!
Every time I visit Alice Grange the staff are so welcoming. The entertainment and activities is second to none and I can't praise the team enough for keeping my Aunt happy content. The gardens are lovely and relaxing to sit in and so much thought has been put into the rainbow garden. We love to sit the cafe area to have coffee and cake all made at the home making it a real home from home.
