My husband and I were looking for a care home for a disabled friend. After searching the internet, we decided that Colten Care seemed the best option. We visited five homes, all of which were of a high standard, with very friendly and caring staff. Having discussed our findings with our friend, he decided on Avon Cliff. We took him there and were met with nothing but kindness. The facilities are all clean, tidy and well decorated. The food is of a high standard and everyone made it clear their sole purpose was to look after the residents well being. Sadly, for us, our friend was unable to settle there (he was 300 miles from his former home). Both the staff and ourselves tried to persuade him to settle but he was unable to do so. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff involved and they tried to meet his every need. When he finally left (to return to his previous home), the staff were genuinely sorry to see him go and have kept in touch with us, taking an interest in how our friend is progressing. Although, in this case, the result was not as we had hoped, we have nothing but praise for the staff and the home. They could not have done more for us or our friend. We still have hopes that he may change his mind and return to Avon Cliff, where I am sure he will be well cared for in very pleasant surroundings. Both of us have said, that in the event of us needing a care home, we would be more than happy to be in Avon Cliff or one of the other Colten Care homes.
