My father went to Kensington Place for recovery after a hip fracture in early 2018. When it became apparent he could not return to the condo with my mother, she joined him at the end of 2018. He passed away at the end of 2019; and my mother now lives there herself. I have nothing but good things to say about Kensington Place, and particularly the staff. They are very caring. The first person you will meet is Mira in Marketing... but she is so much more than Marketing. She has remained my primary contact throughout; always responds promptly and connects me with the right person for an issue; and treats every resident as if they were her own parents. Danyelle, in Life Enrichment, is the same; doing everything she can to keep residents healthy and engaged, especially during these crazy COVID times. The nursing staff is amazing. My Dad's last six months in particular were pretty rough, with both physical and dementia issues. We had private 24 hour care, but still relied heavily on Theo and others who had infinite patience. The food service is also good. My father-in-law is at another "Jewish style" retirement home and always complains about the food. My mother at Kensington is happy... and she was a GREAT cook in her day, so she does not have low standards! Even the maintenance staff go above and beyond. We needed something addressed for safety recently in my mother's unit, and of course I could not enter the building right now; the maintenance team had it looked after in a few hours. Are there little opportunities here and there for improvement? Sure. Nothing is perfect. But my sister and I sleep well knowing our mother is well looked after at Kensington. It is not cheap; but I think we are all learning that elder care is like everything else in life... you get what you pay for. Thanks to the full team for what you do every day.

I imagine it's always a difficult decision-where my Mom or Dad should live for the remainder of their lives. I chose Kensington Place and am glad I did so. My Mom has not been the easiest to deal with at times and yet the entire staff has dealt with her with grace, patience and experience. Most people working there have been lovely to deal with and attentive to our needs. So far all things considered, I don't think I could ask for too much more.
Our parents have lived at Kensington Place Retirement Residence for the past 4 years. They have been very happy with all aspects of the residence including meals, activities and attention to all their particular needs. All of us, their children and grandchildren, have been very impressed since the day they moved in. During this current COVID-19 pandemic, Kensington Place has strictly followed all the protocols given by the Ontario Government and public health officials. Proactive and protective restrictions have been in place since early March 2020 and have been constantly updated since lockdowns began. All caregivers are only allowed to work in one facility. All the staff have been particularly accommodating and helpful during this difficult time. Proper protocols for PPE and stringent measures have constantly been in place all along. We have been particularly impressed with the care and attention that our parents have received, not only during this challenging time, but also since they moved in. We don't hesitate to recommend Kensington Place to others who are contemplating moving in. Thank you Kensington Place for taking such good care of our parents!
Just visited my mother in law who moved in recently. This space is not safe for those with chemical sensitivites or fragrance allergies. The fragrance that floods the hallways borders on putrid and does not end at the unit door. I am shocked as most medical and shared living spaces are now strictly fragrance free. This facility is a sad exception. Hoping they will bring things up to par soon.
TWIMC I am so happy in my new home. The staff, all the way down from Andy Salgar, to the waitreases, nurses, cleaners and night staff make this fully kosher place, home. Not good food, but excellent food, good friendly service, a Shabbos elevator and although I run my mortgage business from home, there are many activities for those less busy. Martin A.
