My dad moved into Astoria last year and it's been smooth sailing ever since! His room is beautiful, as is the rest of the building. Every corner is cozy, clean and homey. My dad adores the staff; they have great energy and take care of every detail. His health has improved tremendously as of late and I credit Astoria as an important contributor to that improvement. I couldn't be happier about his living situation, and I recommend Astoria to anyone who needs supported retirement living. It's the best!!

I have a family member living at Astoria for the last 9 months. She does like the building and location in very convenient for getting to shopping and doctors appointments etc. The staff are friendly and most really go out of their way to help out the residents. I have heard that the food has been an issue. Sometime great, other days just so-so. Overall I am glad she's living there as i know she's being cared for well. I would recommend Astoria, but be aware it can be pricey.
Astoria is a beautiful place. The staff is amazing, friendly and genuine. Everyone does their utmost to ensure the residents are cherished and heard. There is a lot to do with fun outings, daily exercise, tons of entertainment and activities.
Helping to find your parents and loved ones a new home is a daunting task. The decision that you and your family make will leave you wondering just how well they will fit in and adapt.I made a extensive list trying to cover off as many issues I could think of.When you walk in the door ,whats do you see, smell , hear.Is the paint and decor fresh? Background music playing in the lobby? Do you walk in to a room full of people dinning ( this was a big one for me ), or people relaxing in a spacious lounge are reading the paper with a morning coffee. Are the carpets clean? My Dad moved in and absolutely loved it.We soon nicknamed it " The Lodge" for its warmth and caring atmosphere.Did I mention the food? Chef Lewis and his team are amazing. The activities and events are over the top. They even have there own car show in the summer , hot dogs, music and very good fun for everyone. My recommendation to you as you begin the search for a new home is to make a list and start your search and go look at as many as you can. When you walk through the front doors of the Astoria , you'll get what I am trying to say . My Dad passed away not long ago and I still go back to visit friends and the team at the lodge. The take away is this .Without the extraordinary caring ,companionship, love and laughter , this would just be another place to live. This is NOT a rest home ! Go see for yourself , your loved ones deserve the best . 5 stars all the way .
Was there for tour about a year ago, researching private assisted living facilities in the area. Nice building, great interior, tasty food. I think overall it's a great place to live. One thing I did not like - it's a bit too far for seniors to walk to do their shopping and I did not see any pharmacy at a block-distance from this lovely place. However, if you not a major shopper - you will love this place. Loved their sea-theme decorations. All other amenities are very close (Senior Center, Recreational Center, Library, etc)
