They discussed how EMA can accentuate the care offered by the care home, with the residents incoming and present, using EMA's care and nursing home transport services. Recruitment open day, and they openly practise gender based discrimination, that is, the receptionist said that they do not hire any men as care assistants. Its against the law, and an outright abusive practise. Adding after reply: There was no interview, nobody even looked at my papers, or asked anything at all. I was rejected in the first 5 seconds, just looking at my face. I have long faultless experience in care section, in NHS, as well as private dementia homes. None of that was considered, as main criteria was if I matched gender (or perhaps race as Im white).
Having visited Ascot Grange twice now, I have found the building to be very well appointed and impeccably clean and tidy. All the staff I have met greeted me with a warm smile and a 'hello'. They all seem to love working here. More importantly the people who are living here all look really happy, well looked after and have made friendship groups. I wouldn't hesitate to choose this home for a member of my family.
I have been a member of the Ascot Grange team for eight months and must say I am very happy to be part of a such a professional and caring team of people. The residents wellbeing is the first priority and the staff are passionate about what they do. The facilities are second to none and the accommodation on a par with a 5 star hotel. I would be very happy for a relative of mine to live in such a warm and friendly environment.
Having visited on several occasions I never cease to be amazed at the happy atmosphere that welcomes you. I spent some time chatting with one of the residents at the recent summer garden party, who I must say is a real character with lots of life stories to tell !. But again amazed by just how happy and involved she is with other residents and the activities team. Having spent time in other providers homes I can only say pop in to Asoct Grange before you make any decisions.
