Having alot of trouble with some staff while others go far beyond. There is no proper amount of parking for visitors. But local church parking is available. One must speak loud to be heard hear by management...but they do listen eventually. So 3 outta 5 stars...I guess I'd put my mom here...(food and some staff are top notch)

Our Mom lived at Amica for 17+ years, with the final 3 in assisted living. Amica was her home which made it a very difficult transition for Mom and our family for her to move into long term care. Affordability had become an issue. On final reconciliation, charges for extra care, medical dispensing and hospitality(food) for 22 days of the month after Mom moved was assessed. Meetings with Amica to dispute the charges resulted in reversal of the extra care & medical dispensing fees only. They claim that hospitality is part of the rent(?). Make no mistake, this is a business, no consideration given for the exorbitant amount of money spent over the course of 17 years. Very disappointed! The Cook family.
A terrrible service!!!!! And awful client care, seems like noone cares here. To get breakfast here is a mission! No more bistro which was just perfect. I feel bad for those who pay big bucks to be here.
Didn't spend too much time there...had lunch with a resident. Looked really nice from what I can tell.
Finding a retirement home for our parents is never an easy task or decision. After all we want what is best for them. I toured or spoke to every retirement home in the area and Amica just felt right. As corny as it sounds, the staff, the bright atmosphere, their amenities, just made Amica Newmarket a place for my mom to live and thrive. Pool, library, puzzle and games room, arboretum, Internet cafe, a pub, excursions and daily activities, and community of peers. So much to make every day and exciting one. Throughout the entire process, multiple tours, being able to test / enjoy the dining experience, and answering a whirlwind of questions, all the staff have been amazing. I am sure I will have more to write after my mom has moved in and has had a chance to live and explore the Amica experience. However, for now, she and the rest of the family are super excited for her to move in.
