My mom moved in to Amica Lions Gate about 6 months ago. The staff were very sensitive to her transition from independent living. She was not used to having so much attention and although it was nice to have people caring for her it did take a little while for her to get used to that. All the staff have continued to be wonderful and caring. She's fortunate to not have a lot of complex medical needs but Dr. Barre does see her at times in the facility and the nurses station always sends a report afterwards keeping me informed of any changes. Highly recommend Dr. Barre too! People living here are needing more help with their day to day living so sometimes things are not going great for them. It is hard to see my mom needing some of that help but it makes a world of difference to feel like I have a partner in making my mom's life as good as it can be!

My mother has been at Amica Lion's Gate since Jan 2017. She has had quite the journey with Alzheimer's and the staff has helped her through every step. It takes a certain kind of person to work at a memory care residence and Amica has done a wonderful job finding those right people. I am particularly thankful for how well the Amica staff responded to the fluid covid situation over the last couple of years and kept my mother safe. Keep up the good work!
My father and his partner have been living at the Maison, West Vancouver since May 2017. The activity programs are quite varied and while the residents do not necessarily attend continuously and successive events, they are encouraged to select from up to eight different activities each day. (seven days per week). As just one example - The Christmas holiday celebration this year has includes some very talented performers from the West Van area. The residents and guests gathered in large numbers to experience the violin and guitar presentation. The food has always been good each time I dined with my folks. There are three dining areas in the complex which individually address the needs of their residents and guests. In addition a casual open area called "the Bistro" offers fresh coffee, muffins and other bakery items 24-7. The resident personal care staff are all very kind and attentive and responsive to needs. The management level personnel are always responsive to the family's questions and concerns and coordinate the medical and physical needs in a very professional manner. We had tried in-home-nursing care for a nearly two years before contacting the Maison and found home care lacking in many of the services and social advantages that the Maison are providing. We have no complaints about the Maison! C and M Outtrim
I love Amica Lions Gate. Mum moved in during Covid and it was a very stressful time. I couldn’t help at all and the staff were fantastic.🌟 They looked after everything and helped my mum settle. She has now been there two years and I continue to be thrilled with the staff. They are extremely helpful, considerate and very professional. I love that they are so resident focussed. There are activities that Mum can join daily, and interesting and fun events all the time. The environment is lovely - it always looks beautiful and clean. Covid standards are high. Mum is very happy to be there and so am I. Thanks to everyone there! ❤️
Nothing but good things to say. The staff have been amazing. Mother-in-law is wheelchair bound, needs to be fed, washed and dressed and lifted into bed. They do everything and take very good care of her. We so appreciate the Zoom connection with her and staff 3 x week during COVID. And speaking of COVID, Amica Lions Gate had very few cases amongst staff and residents. Well managed facility with kind, caring staff. I'd give Amica 6 stars if I could!
