My parents are really happy here. They have been in a 2 bedroom here for more than 2 years. The residents are very sweet to everyone. The front office staff is helpful and they have activities happening all month long. I didn't give it 5 stars, because it needs some upgrading. The recently received a grant and will be upgrading all the kitchens.
I like this place. The staff is friendly. The residents are friendly and yet they respect other residents' privacy. One building has a terrific 4th floor "patio" that is screened in a very large. It is easy to walk to the Giant store because there are sidewalks all the way. It looks like Peapod services the area too!
I live at Wingler House East. The apartments are nice, and community rooms and garden spaces are beautiful One big problem is that too many of the tenants refuse to wear their masks while in common areas like the laundry room, mail room, elevators, and hallways used by every tenant on a daily basis. I have made numerous complaints, however, the problem still exists and the same tenants continue to refuse to keep the rest of us safe. It is a dangerous place for the not-so-active 55+ community during this pandemic. Also, they do nothing to mitigate the smoking of tenants in their apartments. The hall's carpets and paint smell of ashtray, and even though I have made numerous complaints, nothing is being done to resolve the issue. Walk the 4th and 2nd floor hallway before you sign any lease, which promises that this is a non-smoking facility.
My mom loves this place, as she recently moved here about a month ago from Sarasota, Florida. However, due to the fact that she uses a walker, and she's 84, and lives on the second floor, the frieght elevator is right in front of her door, but because this elevator is always out of order, every time she comes home and goes out, she has to walk the entire length of the first floor, and then go to the second floor, and walk the entire length of the second floor all the way back to her apartment??!!
