I had an amazing experience at The Hosteller Khajjiar. The location is absolutely breathtaking—nestled in nature with stunning views all around, it’s truly one of the best places to stay in the area. The property is peaceful, clean, and perfectly situated for anyone looking to relax or explore the outdoors. What really made the stay special was the staff. They were friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. They even organized a beautiful trek for us, which turned out to be one of the highlights of our visit. Whether you’re traveling solo, with friends, or as a backpacker looking for a peaceful escape in the hills, this place is highly recommended. Would definitely come back!

I recently spent 4 amazing days at The Hosteller Khajjiar, and it was a truly memorable experience. If you're looking for a peaceful place to relax and unwind, this is the perfect spot. The balcony offers a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding mountains — you literally feel like you're wrapped in nature. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Whether it was about local travel tips, arranging transport, or just having a good chat, they were always there with a smile. One of the highlights of the trip was our nighttime adventure — we went up the mountain for stargazing and to enjoy the view of Chamba city lit up at night. It was fun, wholesome, and one of those magical moments you won’t forget. I highly recommend visiting this place if you’re planning a trip to Khajjiar. Whether you're a solo traveler or with friends, it’s a great place to chill and reconnect with nature.
Pros - There are not many good hotels around. My preference being good rooms( clean, fair enough room size with balcony)....this was satisfied with appropriate pricing. Cons- 1. Hospitality /Service- As an example -Water needs to be refilled from filters on different floors. This might make sense for hostelers sharing rooms but not for family or couples. We look for hospitality which was below average. 2. Room service for dining - Not available. Was raised while check-in. 3. No hand towel besides wash basin but placed toilet paper as replacement for hand Towel. 4. No toilet paper with commode.( Not sure of the mindset if they r expecting to pull from besides the wash basin which is weird) 5. Bathing Towels quality - Below Average. 6. Road condition - This is worst. Damn steep and all broken with boulders along the road which made it very tough and risky to cross and reach the destination. 7. They have parking space of 4-5 cars post which they suggest to park somewhere far on road without any safety or security( no gaurds). 8. Food - The price is as per other good hotels but the offering in terms of quantity and quality is below average.I will share my experience - We opted dinner while online booking for 2 which we got to know would include a Thali with chach n gulab jamun thru instagram ( this is not documented on der website). But when we enquired from reception about the menu, they just told about Thali. While we started having dinner only Thali was served without chach n sweet. The staff didn't want to serve sweets n chach actually. While we raised it, they said we were about to do that post u finish eating Thali. I am not sure who drinks chach post consumption of food. Menu should b displayed very clearly which was not done anywhere. The chapati in thali was without butter/ ghee which wen raised they suggested this is how we serve. So over-all experience with dinner was worst.
This property is just amazing. I loved the dorm rooms, especially the washroom of the dorm in which I stayed was as huge as room. And the structure of the property is really amazing , it's on a slope, so you have two floors under the ground level and the people working here were friendly and helpful. And the view from the terrace is just amazing. You get a proper view of the valley and the adjacent mountain. Had a great time staying here.
If you are a foreigner and walk in, do NOT come for this hotel. Booking can only done online. After paid passport details also online. Everything is in convienient. The location is up a small hill. No proper road. Gravel road. We book Deluxe Double Room with Balcony and Valley View. The only view we get is trees.
