Schloßweg 30, 7301 Deutschkreutz, Austria
Romantic castle, nice for weddings.
This not for public.?
Schloss Deutschkreutz The Sopronkresztúr castle (Schloss Deutschkreutz) was given its current form in 1625 by the Hungarian count Pál Nádasdy. After the beheading of his son Ferenc Nádasdy, a Hungarian nobleman and country judge (1671 Lipót I - Leopold), in 1676 the castle fell into the hands of Count Eszterházy and thus lost its cultural importance, so that it practically only played the role of an economic court.
A wonderful atmosphere in the old, lovingly renovated walls. A very interesting tour of the chapel and the upper rooms. A magnificent exhibition of works by the artist Lembden, who also renovated the castle. As a small group, we were able to book a private tour outside of normal opening hours. In summary: We had a wonderful and enjoyable time at the castle.
I know this castle from my childhood. Romantic, mysterious and always something to discover. There are numerous secret passages that I still know about. Worth a trip. And if you're already going to Deutschkreutz, let us tell you the true story about the castle
