Firstly, how anyone can rate this anything other than 5 stars is mad. We had complications during the birth but it was dealt with extremely quickly and competently. Both Dr Ploder and midwife Jahn were faultless and excellent. The aftercare is amazing. 24 / 7 help from the nurses whenever needed and all the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. As others have noted, the food is restaurant quality and I had to start going on runs to make sure I didn't get too fat during our stay there. So overall a hugely positive experience. We hope will be back again one day and will certainly choose the same hospital. Some lower reviews say the place is outdated but I just don't understand. Are they expecting a 5 star hotel? If so, go and stay in one for your next birth.

Gave birth in Sanatorium in February. It felt like beeing home. Everyone was really kind and supportive. The atmosphere, nurses, cleaning staff and of course Dr. Breinl. I would always recoment St. Leonhard.
The doctor who delivered our baby was excellent. However, the aftercare provided by the midwives was rather disappointing. They only visited us twice, and we felt let down, as we had significant breastfeeding problems. The staff were very friendly, and the food was excellent.
We were happy with the birth of our first child in the sanatorium. However, if the medical director (Dr. Bagdahn) is still in office at the second, we will no longer vote for the house. I have rarely met such an unpleasant person in my life. In my opinion, as an anesthesiologist, he was completely wrong. More about the medical director below. We made the right decision with our doctor and midwife - you have to bring them with you, so to speak 😃 In any case, the ward nurses are all extremely hard-working and take a lot of time to answer all the questions (you have a lot of them with your first child 😁). The cleanliness is difficult in the hospital, the rooms are cleaned several times a day. Unfortunately, these are shabby and have no air conditioning. (Blinds broken, only half the curtain available....) This circumstance can be really relevant with a summer baby and I recommend that all expectant parents consider it. It really wasn't fun considering the temperature. 😐 There is always enough to eat, the selection is large and most of the time it tasted really good. Under no circumstances do you have to go hungry in the house, not even your dads. One thing has to be mentioned positively: the free daddy nights 👍 Now to the medical director or anesthesiologist: This man has lost all empathy towards pregnant and giving birth women. Simply asking the question during the preliminary consultation: “Do you want to know what can happen during the birth?” Hello?! Should women really be afraid of giving birth? Mr. Bagdahn says he has to keep saying funny things during the birth that no one finds funny at the time. Among other things, he also ridiculed my wife's feeling of pain during the birth and said the pain would go away like this (but she only had pain because she wasn't properly anesthetized with the epidural) 😉 After the epidural was placed and the aftercare was given, there was a really strange atmosphere in the delivery room. You could just tell that he couldn't really work with anyone in the room. His tone and condescending manner towards others is very questionable.
Simply great! I am eternally grateful that I was looked after so carefully here. Ms. Dr. Carmen Schöll and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schöll are true professionals – competent, warm and committed. The entire team also deserves high praise: everyone was consistently friendly, attentive and helpful. No concern was too much and I felt completely in good hands. I can recommend this clinic from the bottom of my heart. A very big thank you to everyone! ❤️
