Calle Marta Abreu n° 214, entre Avenida 20 de Mayo y Enrique Villuendas, La Habana 10600, Cuba
When I arrived, I was given a completely different room than the one I had booked. I was told my reserved room had “issues,” and the owners refused to refund me. After contacting Expedia, they suddenly agreed to give me my original room—except it had already been given away! How is that possible when I paid in advance? They also claimed I had already checked in, even though I was sitting in the lobby for three hours waiting for my room to be cleaned. When I finally got in, the shower didn’t work—either freezing cold or scalding hot, no in-between. No one bothered to fix it during my five-night stay. The room was cleaned twice, but the towels and sheets were never changed. As for the Wi-Fi? Total scam. It was advertised but didn’t actually work—only available for a few hours every couple of days. I couldn’t even get a taxi because there was no internet. On top of that, there were constant electricity issues—almost daily. The owners kept blaming blackouts, yet the neighboring buildings somehow had power. I also booked this place because it advertised yoga classes, but surprise—they weren’t included. Just another false promise to lure in guests. To make matters worse, I was given six different keys for doors within the premises. It was a nightmare trying to find the right one, especially when returning late at night. But here’s the real kicker: after Expedia removed my review at the owners’ request, the owners contacted me through my personal number and started harassing me for leaving a review! Absolutely unacceptable. This place is a total disaster. I’ve never experienced anything like that in my life. Stay far away.

I had a fantastic stay at this Airbnb in Havana! The location was perfect, close to many local attractions, restaurants, and the vibrant streets of the city. The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The host was incredibly friendly and helpful, providing great tips on where to go and making sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic experience in Havana!
I long for another stay at Albero Dulce with the gorgeous Celine and Matteo. I stayed here for one night in 2020 at the height of the pandemic, exhausted after a long journey. Whilst I couldn’t engage too much then, the warmth and home-from-home feeling shone through. I then had to return, so I spent 10 days here in 2022, starting in one of the smaller rooms and moving up to the suite after 3 nights due to it having been fully repainted and decorated. I fell in love with my hosts and their family. They are so kind and I am happy to count them as my friends. The rooms are excellent, especially since the entire place with redecorated with local artists. The breakfasts (paid for extra) was simple but just what I needed. Home made jams and chutneys were delicious. Extra highlights were sunset yoga on the upstairs terrace and being invited to join thanksgiving feast with my hosts’ kind and interesting friends. Celine and Matteo have built Albero Dulce from the ground up over many years as their home, and it shows. It’s amazing how they have made such a beautiful home when absolutely everything is difficult to come by, especially building materials and good furniture. Whilst the location is a little out of the way of tourist sites, it’s walking distance from the bus station, and central enough that taxis are not expensive. The area is peaceful and calm, and I’d rather stay here and sleep well than stay again in the chaos of Havana Vieja. Please not that WiFi is not currently available here, though this may change (but timings for this sort of thing are never sure in Cuba). However the 4G there is good enough I managed to do a teams meeting with 10 participants whilst tethering on ETECSA. I cannot wait to return ❤️
My stay was AMAZING!!! Celine Terry, her mother, and her staff were extremely helpful, kind, and generous with helping me navigate Cuba. It was because of them that my first time was memorable and definitely makes me plan for more trips in the future! I have told all my family & friends about my experience and the hospitality I received - I promise to return and bring many many more people that want to travel to Cuba with me
A gem in Havana, the house is named after a sweet tree in the garden. Three guest rooms for now but they are expanding to six rooms next year with a small spa and yoga classes. The personal attention from Celine, Matteo and their staff is priceless. Nicely decorated rooms with private bathrooms, the shower even had water jets! The breakfast had a powerful cereal boost, toast with cheese (but you can ask for anything they have available) and fresh fruit. After hitting the town, you return home to this cool place where a good conversation is easy to start, if you need one. They have a blue Cadillac and run a two hour city tour which is fabulous. They are planning to organise beach excursions in Cadillacs next yeer. Matteo and Celine are so friendly that we felt at home. You won’t get any better value for money. Will definitely stay here again, when back in Havana!
