Monte da Palhagueira, is a beautifully landscaped Retirement Village where you can enjoy living in the lovely mild sunny climate of the Algarve. The village has two swimming pools, of which one is accessible by wheelchair. A tennis-court, a petanque pitch, and a putting green. Furthermore a nursing home with 24-hour nursing care, a doctor's surgery and a physical therapy unit. There is also a very nice restaurant named Le Marquis. And for those who enjoy reading, an interesting library inside the Village Hall, where also the weekly book-club is held. On the outskirts of the village you can find St. Luke's Anglican Church, where you can enjoy a variety of concerts, and where the Sunday worship is held at 11:30 am.

My father had a stroke and he needed a nursing home to recover and rest after the hospital. He had the best experience we could imagine , I was very happy because he spent two weeks in a fantastic place and it helped him a lot and so do I , I'm his daughter and I want to say thank you to the whole team for their very good job their warm attitude and their kindness, my father had the chance to play piano in his own room and everybody took care of him with a lot of love and kindness, I myself was very well welcomed because I had a very tough time and I especially thank Simon and Denise I will never forget how much they helped me giving me a lot of support and empathy while I am not in my own country taking care of my father alone. My father really appreciated the lovely place, the garden, the food but above all the staff , excellent place to be if you are looking for a very lovely and nice nursing home for your parents to spend a short or long term stay feeling secured helped and very well treated. Thank you so much the whole team , Aurelia and Jamy !!
I WOULD LIKE TO DO VOLUNTEER WORK TO LERN OR SPEAK ENGLISH.
