I cannot say enough wonderful things about Heartis San Antonio!! From the moment we walked in, we felt like we were home! The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the amenities are top-notch, offering everything from a movie theater and fitness center to gourmet dining and engaging social activities. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the incredible staff, especially the Community Director, Randy Stevens. They go above and beyond to ensure every resident feels at home and part of a vibrant community. Their dedication, warmth, and genuine care for each individual are evident in everything they do. Randy takes the time to get to know each resident personally, addressing their needs and preferences with a level of attention that is truly remarkable. The sense of community here is palpable, and it's clear that Randy's experience and kind heart plays a huge role in fostering this environment. Great Residents! Great Team! Great Community!

Heartis is a beautiful community with an amazing team! We have had several patients move in from our rehabs over the years and they have been so very happy with their new beautiful home. Randy is doing a great job leading his team!
Good afternoon Everyone. I would like to put a small write up together on the culinary side of things. I have been the Executive chef here at Heartis for 1 year and 24 days and counting. As I stepped in Immediate changes were made for the better. I adjusted the menu to the residents likes. We added in food items that were well liked and also popular. We also added in doing theme events, where we really stepped up and put together a great presentation of the foods. We also include Memory care for this, should they not be able to attend, we would send them the foods so they can enjoy it as well. we did the same for the Room trays we prepare and sent to their rooms. I am very active in the role of speaking with the residents, and getting to know their likes and dislikes, including specific diets that we adhere to with some, using the special meals we are serving set to the diet of each resident that has a special need. Our teams are very positive and we all work together to make sure what we do daily with our cooking is fresh vibrant, nice looking plating, and tasteful. After my father experienced a stroke that resulted in difficulties with walking and remembering to take his medication, we explored several assisted living facilities in the area. He ultimately chose Heartis due to the variety of activities offered, the white tablecloths, and the quality of the food. He lived in the assisted living section of Heartis for nearly two years. Following another stroke that left him unable to walk or even recall my name, Randy facilitated a transition to a room in the Memory Care unit. The process was remarkably easy for Dad. I visited two other Memory Care facilities nearby but was dissatisfied with my findings. It appears that the common practice in the industry involves isolating residents with memory challenges, placing them in the back of the building out of the way. However, this was not the case at Heartis! I was impressed to see a caregiver-to-resident ratio of 1 to 4, with both a medication technician and an Activities Director dedicated exclusively to Memory Care. Occupational and physical therapists were consistently working with residents, the chef continued to prepare special meals, and there were multiple shower days along with housekeeping services. The facility also featured a beautiful courtyard with a garden. It is difficult to express just how wonderful this place is. While the recently renovated establishment was impressive, it was the staff that truly made a difference. Arriving each day to be greeted by Catarena or Barbara became a highlight for me. The most delightful aspect was witnessing the engaging activities Marlene organized for the residents. One day they could be found gardening, the next making nachos or cookies, and other days involved dance parties, karaoke, or even balloon volleyball games! Each day brought something new and enjoyable. Observing the staff treat my father with the same love and respect I have for him was incredibly meaningful. As my father's needs became more pronounced, Heartis assisted me in securing hospice services, which brought in an additional team of caregivers. He had a larger support crew than Kendrick Lamar! My father passed away peacefully in his sleep. I was present when the news reached the staff, and my heart broke. However, each staff member took the time to say goodbye to him. Witnessing their grief brought me comfort, knowing how deeply loved he was. The best moments were the stories they shared about him; he was a little mischievous. I will be forever grateful for the extraordinary care my father received at Heartis.
I can't say enough about how Randy and Sirleatha have taken great care of our residents at Heartis. Randy is such an advocate for his residents and makes sure that only quality care is being provided. I definitely recommend Heartis for your loved ones. It's been a pleasure serving patients at this community.
