OMG I can't wait to go back, the hostel accommodation is basic, a bed is a bed, and I don't care where I sleep, but to wake up to that view for 4 nights, so breath taking, that tops everything!!! The bedroom was clean, the bed was comfortable, what more do you want, just look out that window to that view!!!

My family on vacation visited this location for an evening meal. Great food and the staff were friendly! I’d probably classify the menu as a “fusion” of solid Italian dishes as well as some Swiss/Bavarian influence. Everything was delicious and a great place to enjoy a meal. Of Note: Parking and getting to the Hostel is awkward coming down the main road from the houses – there is parking off the main road, then you need to hike up the exit drive to the restaurant. I don’t know how you get there otherwise; GPS doesn’t show you a drive going up to the Hostel.
The hostel is 5 minutes walk from the mennagio ferry station. The view from the balcony was the best of all. The staffs were super nice. Check in was smooth. I stayed at a 8 bed mixed dorm. Met some really amazing people. Bed was really clean.
My friends and I came here for a lovely dinner, and while the food was decent and the location truly beautiful, our evening took a disappointing turn. Unfortunately, it was overshadowed by an uncomfortable experience with one of the cooks—he had a buzz cut—and later, his friend. From the moment we sat down, we felt uneasy under his constant, unwanted gaze. As the night progressed, he approached our table, and both he and his friend began to harass us, making it impossible to enjoy the evening. It wasn’t until they realized we weren’t engaging that they finally left us alone, only to approach another group of women. What should have been a wonderful night was ruined by these two, and I would recommend being cautious if you encounter them when dining here.
The only good thing about this hostel is the location and the view. It was a very uncomfortable stay and one of the worst hostels I’ve ever stayed. Beds were okay. Showers and toilets were very small, disgusting and full of alive or dead insects, even something like a cockroach. Nowhere to put stuff on the common bathrooms, I had to use the sink inside the room and be quiet so I don’t wake someone. They say you can’t use the showers in the morning because they clean?? But it was not clean at all. Full of spider nets. I literally avoided going for number 2 and a second shower because I was disgusted. The restaurant area was okay but the food was mediocre. At least they offer a free drink with the lunch. And they play music every night until 11 which is very loud so if youre tired and want to sleep before that it’s impossible ! Imagine if you have to check out very early. The staff was kind though. The bad thing is there are no other hostel options in the middle lake. Its a solution only for 2 nights max. I understand it’s not a modern hostel with modern facilities but it doesn’t have to be dirty.
